On the pour a 1 finger head comes then goes relatively quickly. Carbonation is also very low on this one. The body is murky reddish light brown, with quite a bit of haze, likely from yeast, but possibly from malt proteins. After a while the beer is almost headless with just a ring around the glass and a single foam island on top.
Aroma is quite complex without bringing much to any hop aroma. Esters mingle with roasted malts to create a figgy caramel vanilla aroma with a dark bready finish. Very sweet and malty.
Flavor follows the aroma with even breadier malts and a mix of English amd American hops bringing some bitterness and some lighter hop flavor near the back. Caramel and vanilla malts are strong throughout the whole thing with the figginess being more reserved in the flavor but coming right after the big hit of malts and before the rise of the hops that balance it all out. Malty and yeasty throughout, quite bready and has a nutty finish.
Feel is soft despite the headlessness of the beer. Also has a surprising Carbonation bite making the feel quite balanced but a bit chewy and thick. Despite that it's easy to put down and keep drinking. Somewhat counter intuitively, the finish feels a bit dry on the palate even though there is quite a bit of sweetness from the maltbill and thickness right at the front of the sip. For the ABV it is actually quite big feeling, with a good smoothness.
Overall this is a good brown ale with some nice complexity, but the yeast could've been a bit more reserved. It does have a bit of a moose drool vibe to it with a bit more going on which I like. Very nutty on the finish, and yeasty and malty throughout. English style with a slight American twist.

Just into Trinidad, CO and picked a 1 pint 9 oz . . It really hit the spot after a 9 hour drive. It has a Barry mild too heavy taste and it's a typical brown ale after the English Style. I imagine myself drinking one of these in a pub in Bristol. I'm going to try a more cuz I go forward. I'm just

Very dark brown with deep garnet hues. Sticky, lacy head, almost 1 finger thick. Nose has a musty metallic touch followed by dark roasted barley and grains, very straightforward. Taste is very English-style, some dark fruits with the classic brown ale tastes. Minimal mineral hops, not bitter at all. Bittersweet, coffee, touch of milk chocolate. Finishes clean, with a lingering grainy note.
Overall, a solid brown ale from a solid brewery. Would be great with food, preferably something greasy.

NIce brownish hued body with a thick, rich, creamy head. Roasted grain aroma with faint notes of chocolate, coffee, and nuts; a smidgeon of vanilla. Mocha and cocoa flavors with a mild hop bitterness. Silky smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a lightly bodied residual sugar feel; very light effervescence on the tongue.
Warm and subtly sweet flavors melded with a toasty grain taste. A very smooth, velvety texture adds greatly to the overall appeal of this brown ale. Deep and complex flavors throughout with an easy drinking, smooth body. Highly recommended if you're looking for a lightly sweetened, malt-forward ale. This beer delivers the goods!
