Consumed on March 20th, 2013 at the Golden Road Brewpub.
Beer is a cloudy light yellow-orange with a two finger head. Some lacing. Head becomes a little white foam cap before too long.
Melanoidin smells: cloves and bananas and a dash of honey.
Flavor: Wheat tang up front. Soft and the tiniest bit powdery. Bananas and cloves are present but not nearly as pronounced on the palate as in the nose. Flavor is actually slightly watery overall with a fleeting dash of bitterness.
Mouthfeel is average for the style: medium bodied with detectable carbonation.
Disappointing, since the aroma promised a good time. This one is way more nose than mouth.

I caught the end of a keg so it might be a tainted review.
BUT ice cold at the LMU Loft on-campus bar.
a- opaque and thick orange/ yellow color
s- no good, kind of rank
t- very banana, malty and smooth but a little stale and noticeable sediment
m- very bubbly, not great for a light beer
o- so so drink. I think if I had a cold fresh tap I would have enjoyed it more but. Its only redeeming quality was the strong banana taste, and I don't really care about that.

A - Pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some light lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of wheat and grainy malts, lemon zest, orange and citrus hops, banana, clove, coriander.
T - Starts off with a mix of sweet wheat with some orange and lemon zest. Through the middle, the banana and clove yeast character come through with a touch of coriander and hop character. The finish is a mix of sweet grainy malts with orange, lemon zest, banana, and clove.
M - Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet and yeasty finish.
D - Very drinkable. Good overall balance with good sessionability and yeast character.

Appearance: Pours a hazy honey color; the head was decent but not nearly solid enough for the style; a few strands of lace hung around afterwards
Smell: Juicy Fruit gum; sugary banana and clove
Taste: Very herbal, up front, with cloves, sweet Juicy Fruit and loads of sugar complementing the banana; somewhat grainy in the back
Mouthfeel: Medium body with prickly carbonation; lacks a creamy character
Overall: A rather unusual stab at the style; overly sweet and lacks the strong sense of banana that I seek in the style
Thanks, Madirish76, for the opportunity

A: Pours a cloudy light brownish orange color with a thin white head. Looks a lot like unfiltered apple juice.
S: I wouldn't call the smell large, but there's something there to be found. Some powdery yeast notes, slight banana bread, bubblegum, orange zest and some bready malts.
T: Citrus notes upfront. Orange and some faint lemon are first. Then a lot of malt breadiness with some yeast present as well. Finish is a touch weak with a bit of white pepper and lemon zest. Not a terrible hef, but nothing outstanding.

16oz can poured into large tulip - thanks to gcphilli
Pours a clouded straw yellow with golden tones. Fluffy white head retains for a while before dissolving into some cloudy film with a few spots of lacing left behind.
A bit funky and yeasty in the nose with some must. Lemon and orange peel with spice and pepper.
A bite of spice with a snap of floral hops up front. Clove and lemon peel with some juicy orange. Slightly funky yeast with wheat and biscuit malts. Finishes a little spicy and citrusy.
Lighter medium body, slightly higher carbonation, dry and lingering on the tongue. This was alright, but the funkiness got a little much after about halfway through.

Poured from a pint can into a smaller glass at the Courtyard Marriott in Culver City, Calif. About a finger of head. Color was orange straw. Noticed a bunch of bubbles right away. Light white frothy lacing that went away fairly quickly. Light and sporadic film on the sides.
Potent smell of citrus wheat hops right up front, first orange, then lemon. Also got some banana malts. Some wheat and grass in there. Got the Circus Peanuts at the end.
Tasted very much like the smell. Got that orange and lemon citrus notes up front, but nicely balanced. Not so much a hefeweizen, but more of a wheat beer. A bit disappointed in the aftertaste though. It starts out so well, then just kind of fades out to a watery finish.
Light-to-medium body. Thin, watery texture. Heavily carbonated. Abrupt, watery finish.
A decent beer that started out with such promise. That being said, the smell and initial taste were both pretty good. It might be worth another try.

Canned on 04/26/2012. Tulip glass.
A: Pours a cloudy light gold color with a thin cap of white head which recedes almost immediately. A bit of lacing.
S: Lots of banana and malt with a hint of citrus.
T: Grainy malt and a little clove. The banana is there but doesn't come through as much.
M: Medium body and low carbonation. A little more carbonation would add some crispness.
O: Pretty easy to drink, good enough flavors.

Local Hefeweizen. I CAN dig that. On to the beer:
A darker tone of yellow shines in the glass despite a cloudy body. On top is a white head that retains itself pretty well and leaves some good spots of lace around the glass. The nose is acceptable, and it has a little of that traditional German character. Sweet malted wheat, nuts, and tocuhes of banana make their way to the nose. So far, this looks reaosnable.
No, it's not the most flavorful hefeweizen my palate has come across, but it's not complaining. Wheat malt base, good, a little fruity, good, and a little spicy, good. Its carbonation is smooth with a tiny tickle of bubbles.
Both of Golden Road's canned good (the other being "Point the Way") have shown to be reasonable options at reasonable prices. We're gonna give this a thumbs up.
