A ways off the beaten path, in the backwaters of the PNW sits this lil place off the main drag through town. On my approach I would have missed the place were it not for my friend riding shotgun. A small sign jutting out of the side of a charming old business block shows the way to go, and my big city eyes almost didn't see it (ok some would say I am blind in addition to having sebere mental slowness.) A nice and clean interior, modern and remodled, coolers line both walls and a nice oldgrowth slab serves as the bar for growler fills. Decent wine selection, even better beer selection; vintages of certain beers are available if you ask even! Very reasonably priced beer, and Matt the owner is a terrific and friendly guy who is very knowledgable about his craft. He's also quite the handsome rogue and I've seen him do ninja backflips (not really but it makes an already awesome guy seem that much more badder-asserer.). If only this place weren't so far!

I love this shop. Very much needed in this neck of the south sound region.
One thing is certain...These guys DO NOT sell crap. Only good stuff in this store, and best of all, the guys at the counter really know their stuff. They are fun to talk to about beer and are less business men and more beer men. They are also helpful and have good deals every so often for growler fills. Oh yeah...they do growler fills! These guys are awesome. Prices are a bit steep but what would you expect when they carry such a fine selection?

A: Rivertooth is situated off the main drag in Shelton. A quiet place, very spacious and clean. A good atmosphere.
Q: Good. You can find some random vintage beers here if you're attentive. You can find everything from Supplication to Black Butte XXIII. You will not find crap here, well chosen selection.
S: Outstanding. Usually a upbeat, friendly one man show who takes care of businness. They know beer, love beer and the industry! They have been in the know and the industry for a great deal of time and know what they're talking about.
S: About eight double door coolers packed with single and bombers. You can find anythfrom a Russian River Supplication, to a Bruery Saison De Lente. They also have a nice wine selection to boot. Prices are on target which was nice considering they are a new, smaller bottleshop compared to many others which are in larger cities. Four handles provides growlers to go!

Stopped in here last Sunday and, even though I arrived slightly earlier than the stated opening time, the store was open for service. From my understanding, they've been open for less than six months. Unlike a mom & pop shop, it's a bro & bro shop (I just made that up). Two friends, with a passion for beer, went in together on a business and are making it work.
The store is average size for a specialty store. Only about 8 or 9 refrigerator units for beer. I expect they will add more as business picks up; it appears there is room if they so desire. And let me add, the place was well kept and clean.
Prices are right at average. I was glad to see they weren't marked up for being off the beaten path, at least to an outside it was off the beaten path. Right on Main street, though.
As I was being rung up, I noticed they have growlers for sale and 4 tap handles for beer to go. I was pleasantly surprised to see Old Rasputin on tap.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this establishment, if you're in the area.
