On tap at the brewpub, into a short tumbler.

Black with some translucence perhaps at the edges. Brown bubbles serve as athe ehad, with almost no retention or lacing. Nose of dark fruits, blackberries, currants, winey and oak notes, generally sweet with some chocolate. A touch of alcohol. Taste is wine and dark fruity, dark cherries, some chocolate, light roast but a sweet oaky finish. Again, alcohol in the finish. Body is thinned a touch by the barrel, but all in all this turns out to be quite tasty. Have yet to be blown away by a wine barrel aged stout, but this ended up satisfying me quite a bit.
