It seems that the upscale burger joint has become the next big thing. This place has a very nice, modern interior and was pretty crowded on the Tuesday night when I was there. Good service and a nice selection of craft beer. Nothing really exciting or rare on tap, but everything was a solid choice. The burgers were as expected, interesting combinations of ingredients paired with clever names, but they didn't quite live up to my expectations. My burger was good, but not the sort of deeply satisfying experience I would expect from the $12 price tag. Plan B was good, but if you want a fancy burger in this part of CT, Prime 16 in New Haven is much better.

Never judge a book by its cover. The location is obviously great, from a business perspective, but I can see beer people getting a bit thrown off by the restaurant's initial appearance. Its situated in a small, high-end, strip mall. Your first thought might be to overlook the place, because of the store-front's cookie-cutter look, but an oasis awaits inside. Great bar area, with a full size (its fake) copper kettle on the back bar wall. Nice selection of beers available on tap, like Dogfish Head 120min and Lagunitas' Censored. Extensive beer menu, with over 50 beer available to drink. Menu is nice and laid out well enough for amateurs to decide what they might enjoy and pros to quickly decipher what they need (light to dark).

Service was above average, waiters knew the menu well, but not what the beer was really about. Better glassware should have been available also, as most of the beers, with the exception of a few, were either served in a bottle or conical shaped pint glass. If they made a couple of tweaks in that area, I think this would definitely be a beer advocate "beer-haven".

Overall, it was a pleasurable experience and a great place to introduce my family to the craft beer market. They have fantastic burgers, like the Bacon Cheese Burger and I was really impressed by the limited cooking options. You get "well-done" or "pink". Good times, keep them coming.

This is a great place to have good food and enjoy great beers. While they don't have a lot of beers, they do have really good ones which make up for the limitations.

The beers they have are rotating so you know you are getting fresh beers. This is a good business model, a few chain stores, but they focus on quality. And like a good friend of mine says:

"Quality never goes out of style" -Next Exile

Great beers on draft, hard to finds and good food to pair.

The food is great, good burgers..

Awesome selection of Bourbons, Beers and Burgers...
what else should I say...?

its the ultimate man haven

Plan B is, at its heart, a very good but expensive burger joint. It is in line with the new burger type restaurants relying on freshly ground beef and upscale style burgers. I really enjoy the food and find the beer selection to be fairly good as well, with some interesting tap selections. For example, on a recent visit, Ommegang Adoration and Southern Tier Imperial Pumking were both wonderful selections on tap. However, the rest of the selection was basic and not noteworthy. Good selection in bottles, but not enough rotation in quality draft beer. Still, there is enough there to make it a solid location in the great Hartford area.

Nice to have another local beer destination. Plan B seems to really cover all the bases. The tap list is excellent, prices are right on. The bottle list was not so impressive. It consists of a "beer for two" menu, featuring a short list of bottles at highly inflated prices. Plan B also features an extensive list of bourbon, as well.

The menu is mostly an awesome selection of burgers, and a few entree's. My burger was superb! The bar is nice, plenty of seating. Service was great, especially for such a new place. I will be back for sure.
