The Decanter is a little, wine store that has a very small but very good selection of beers (750s & bombers only). I picked up bombers of Ruination and Oak aged yeti recently and have picked up Tripel Karmeliet, Saison DuPont, Hop Stupid, Avery's The Reverend, Maharaja, and Samuel.

Atmosphere - Boring (I'm not into wine).

Quality - Very good

Service - Average

Selection - Small but very good

Value - Reasonable

Once again, my charachter count is not sufficient so here comes the endless babble for no reason other than to please the powers that be.

The Decanter is, along with Famous Wine & Spirits on Route 48, the only place in Decatur to buy quality craft beer.

This is a bit of a hidden gem, away from the malls and cookie-cutter businesses that "plague" Decatur. Located right in Downtown, you can tell the owners care to offer the city high-quality wines, spirits and beer.

While small, the craft beer is quite remarkable. There is one "cabinet" with five shelves filled with bombers only. Some names: Stone IPA, Ruination, Cali-Belgique, Sublimely and Smoked Porter; Avery Salvation, Maharaja and Czar; Lagunitas Hop Stoopid; Ommegang; Unibroue La Fin du Monde. Also a good amount of Belgians, including Framboise Lambic, Chouffe and Maredsous; and some quality Euros like Sam Smith's.

Prices are just about on par with everything else in Central Illinois, that is- a little pricey. Service is personable and friendly, and this is overall a great stop in Decatur.
