Served in lovely stemware from the brewery, this comes out a deep clear gold under a firm contoured white head with plenty of lace. The nose is mildly hoppy with a touch of malt. The mouth is semi-flat and well balanced. The initial taste is mild, with a touch of that typical francophone herbal sweetness. The finish is mildly hoppy, with a bit more bite in the aftertaste. Nice brew.

Glad that I could review this.
From my notes... this beer did not have a subtle yeast and all that fruitiness, funkiness that we come to love from those Belgians. But I bought this ale at an exclusive wine store near a BYOB Guatemalan restaurant... and the ale went great with the half-spicy food.... I'm guessing because of the dryness made by the hops.
MJ's "Great Beers of Belgium" said it has "a earthy, fruity hop aroma, a creamy fresh-tasting start and a crisp, very dry finish."
He lists it among the Liefmans breweries and that it got its start at the Halve Maan Brugges brewhouse.

This poured out as a lightly hazy yellow color with a pretty good sized head on top. The lacing is light and the retention is a decent. The smell of the beer gives off some light sour notes but mostly had some grains and Belgian yeast on the nose. The taste of the beer is similar to most Belgian Tripel's and Pale Ales. The mouthfeel is light bodied and easy to drink. Overall this brew isn't too bad.

Very fresh nose that recalls dairy products and especially lactic acid. The attack is equally fresh with quality hops and a touch of yeast valuable. Mouth rather small, very hoppy and dry. The finish is clean and good sharpness. Easy to drink and very pleasant in the mouth, it can only give pleasure to the lover of good beer.

Bottle shared courtesy of fatty (thanks!).

Poured a medium yellow color with a small sized white head. Very small floaters that were suspended throughout the beer. I initially got aromas of yeast, citrus and spices until Eric ruined it by the power of suggetion by saying it smelled like a beach ball. Tastes of citrus, spices, yeast and a little fruity. Lively body with a crisp and clean finish.

Four 12oz bottles purchased at Jovi in Gatineau. Best before date of October 2008, consumed in July 2008. Pours a nice pale cloudy gold with a large billowing head. Light yeasty aroma. Taste is on the light side with a mild spice feel from the yeast.
