Pours a kindof nutty brown color with a reasonable head.

Smells like fresh fruity pumpkin...very sweet, maybe a hint of spices or nuts, mostly fresh pumpkin.

Taste has a lot of authentic pumpkin too, but more spices than in the nose, kindof nutty, almost cloyingly sweet, good though.

Mouthfeel is pretty nice, rich but good carb, fair drinkability.

Good pumpkin beer! Pumpkin flavor is very authentic, I like that the spices are toned down, could be less sweet though.

Very limited release and distribution. Packaged only in kegs and 22oz bombers, and poured into my 1 liter Hofbrau stein.

Apperance: Pours a gorgeous ruby color that I've never really seen before. 1 inch foam head dissipates to a thin layer.

Smell: Pumpkin spices (i.e. cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, allspice). A very fruity essence.

Taste: Vanilla. All the spices listed above. Pumpkin flavor is implied in the taste.

Mouthfeel: high end on a low scale of carbonation. Very wet, chewy, and smooth, satisfying finish. Medium-bodied, but full flavored.

Overall: Me gustaaa. But could use a medium-high level of carbonation to match the body of the beer, as it is currently too light in my own opinion.

And here I thought my pumpkin beer experiences were done for the year... Oh well, the first of two Texas-based pumpkins I've got pours a clear ruby-brown topped by a finger or so of glowing off-cream foam. The nose comprises candied orange peel, thick caramel, light mint, cinnamon, brown sugar, and light gingerbread. The taste brings in more of the same, with a bit more orange character than before and a smidgen of cocoa for the sake of it. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a slightly milky feel. Overall, a nice pumpkin beer, though I'm not sure the Belgian yeast really does much for it (and doesn't detract from it, either.). Not bad.

A great pumpkin beer. Not overpowering in the spice department. Stands up to DFH's and Saint Arnold's pumpkin beers, though not as good in my opinion. I liked it a bit more than Sam Adams Fat Jack.

I look forward to having this every fall season in the Houston area. Great job again Karbach.

Poured from a 22 oz bomber into a DFH signature glass...

Colour is a super dark copper, with a tinge of deep ruby red. Thin head with a yellowy tinge. Not much head on the pour, needed to swirl it up to get a a proper look.

Smell is well... dissapointing for a pumpkin beer. When I sniff these beers I expect a full blast of pumpkin and pumpkin pie spices, and only got hints of it on the nose.

Taste is average. Not great... almost seems more like a brown ale rather than the pumpkin style. Again here I lack the strong flavor notes that usually come with this style of beer.

Mouthfeel, however, is very nice. The right level of carbonation for the beer for sure. Smooth.

Overall, it was nice to try, but there are many other great examples of this style that I would prefer to have. I would add that the alcohol creeps up on you, the beer is not boozy at all, but at the end of the bottle I could certainly tell that it was somewhere above the 6% the beer guy at whole foods claimed it was...

Poured from a bomber and had a really dark copper color with nice but thin head which left quickly. The nose was of expected pumpkin spices. Mouth feel was smooth. Taste was up front bread with caramel sweetness, Middle had a decent hop presence and the finish lingered with the vanilla, allspice, pumpkin pie spices. This was by far the best pumpkin ale I've tasted this season. Although pumpkin beers done as well as this one are enjoyable, probably one will do you.

On tap at Hay Merchant in Houston TX.

A: Pours a dark, brick red color. A one finger white head forms, but recedes in a second. Light lace.
S: Vanilla, nutmeg, allspice. The kitchen cabinet of spices thrown in. Bready malts. Lingering sweetness.
T: Again, the kitchen cabinet of spices. Vanilla, nutmeg, and allspice are big up front. Though quickly fades. A big bready, malty flavor comes next. Finishes with a caramel malt/brown sugar sweetness that lingers on.
M/D: A medium body and carbonation. Really sweet, I wish there was some dryness to counter that. Not hard to drink one. Though not something I am coming to again and again.

This reminds me of DFH Pumpkin. Which, when I first tried loved it. Though after time, I got really tiered of the allspice sweetness. The same here. The spices are just to much for me.

The color is a deep copper that looks very appalling with a thin soapy head. Wasn't very impressed with the lacing as I drank. The smell isnt overwhelming, with faint pumpkin pie notes. The taste is a little more aggressive with a snappy hop back bone. The most disappointing aspect was the mouthfeel which I found watery and a little unpleasant. Overall decent but not an awe inspiring effort.

22 oz bomber pours a very clear, deep copper color with a blooming tan head. Fades at an average pace and leaves some nice sheets of lace. Pretty good looking brew...

Nose actually lets the Belgian yeast out to play beyond the typical pumpkin pie spices. Malts have a grainy caramel thing going on in the background and it has a rock-candy-esque sweetness.

Taste is interesting...I am really happy the yeast is as prevalent as it is. The malts are dark, yet not overly bold. A toasty aspect comes out along with some tootsie-roll chocolate. It is kind of like a Belgian Strong Dark Ale with a subtle spice presence, not unlike many BSDA's really. The pumpkin adds a bit of gourdy-ness but does not really give it a whole lot of flavor. Mouthfeel is smooth as silk, something Karbach does well. I cant really tell what the ABV is, but if I had to guess…maybe 8.5 or 9? I really like this beer, I wish it was easier to get, there was a limit of 1 at Spec's and was a bitch to hunt down..
