Notes:
Brewed in the style of the farmhouse ales of Belgium's southern countryside, Hardywood Farmhouse Pumpkin utilizes a blend of rye, wheat and barley in the grain bill, earthy flavoring hops and a classic saison yeast. Ripe, flame roasted Virginia sugar pumpkins and brown sugar provide a hearty backbone to this 8.5% ABV beer. Freshly ground Ceylon cinnamon, whole Grenada nutmeg, whole Madagascar clove and whole allspice harmonize with pounds of freshly sliced organic ginger root.
A beautiful hue of autumn russet, Hardywood Farmhouse Pumpkin displays a voluminous head, with a bouquet of aromatic fresh spice. Medium to full in body, this ale offers a balanced flavor of caramelized pumpkin and pie spices, with a lingering finish laced with a hint of fresh ginger.

Thanks to rudzud for sharing.
Light fizzy head, clear golden honey colored
Nose pumpkin pie, light pie spices cinnamon, nutmeg, nutty, light grassy hay like farmhouse, hint of grainy malt and straw.
Taste dry slightly sour funky pumpkin, farmhouse saison dry grassy, light ginger and some nutmeg like spices, floral effervescent, hint of gingerbread sweetness and candy like, little butterscotch toffee. Interesting grassy earthy hop that gets slightly chewy bitter, bitterness slightly trashed away a bit. Long dry but little sticky syrup, long earthy slightly spicy chewy bitter hops.
Mouth is med bod, lots of effervescent carb.
Overall kinda meh, seems like it's lost a lot of it's character, and rudzud agrees since he had it fresher. Oh well, maybe I'll get to try it again fresh next year.

Received in a trade and poured in to my Duvel tulip.
A - Pours a nice crystal clear roasted pumpkin flesh orange hue with a one finger off white head that slowly faded to leave a thin, thin blanket. No real lacing to speak of but nice retention.
S - Mmmm...pumpkin. This is quite nice. Rich, roasted pumpkin on the aroma with some light brown sugar/molasses sweetness. Faint spice notes. Deep, deep inhales bring out some faint saison/farmhouse esters. No real funk, the pumpkin dominates that.
T - Taste is delicious, albeit slightly intermingled. Throughout, mixing with styles, is a booze flavour. There are some faint belgian/saison esters almost banana-y. Nice roasted pumpkin notes throughout the beer but falls a little flat when compared to the nose.
M - Mouthfeel is excellent really. Basically like all of these Hardwood brews. Almost sharply carbonated, light, drinkable. Sessionable at 8.5%.
O - Overall, another delicious brew from Hardwood. Aroma and mouthfeel are top notch. Glad I have another bottle of this. While not my favourite Hardywood it certainly was worth the trade.

750ml bottle into a tasting glass. Bright orange color with a thin spotty head. Nice lacing and nice looking color.
Aroma mixes the earthy Belgian yeast with pumpkin pie spice. Pumpkin and some sweet malts come out as well. The yeast and pumpkin pie spice come together pretty well.
The taste has more of the spice flavors throughout. The Belgian yeast dominates a little more with some cinnamon and nutmeg coming out a little more in the finish. Sweeter malts and pumpkin notes are pretty nice. A little too heavy on the spice for me but pretty good overall.
Medium bodied with higher carbonation. Overall, it was a pretty good beer. It had a lots of spice flavors going on and they were a little overwhelming at times, but they come together pretty well overall. Interesting twist on style.

Cage and corked bottle generously provided by funkybottoms for purposes of this tasting. Very much appreciated to get the opportunity to try this. Funky sent me the gift set of the gingerbread stout in addition so I poured these into the GBS goblets.
A- Pours a hazy yellow with a generous white head. Minimal lacing retained on the glass.
S - Combines the components of both styles in that you get some of the traditional pumpkin profile but you also get the farmhouse yeast of the saison as well. I like pumpkin beers that are simply not spice bombs so I enjoy the craft here that Hardywood put into this one.
T - Similar to the aroma, in that I first get the saison when poured cold to start. Earthy and yeasty to some extent but as the beer sits and warms the traditional spices become more prominent. Nice contrast and the styles compliment. Earthy, fleshy, but with some farmhouse spice to it. They could have ramped up the pumpkin more and gotten away with it, but I liked what they did here.
M- Very nice. Not too thin and has a fullness to it.
O - A really nice beer here and one that I will definitely return to next year. I like the contrast in styles as opposed to simply drinking liquid nutmeg, clove, etc.
This is really more 4.25 for taste and overall, feel slightly guilty with just 4's across the board. I would like to try the bourbon version of this to see the addition of flavors from oak and vanilla.
A winner. Thanks funkyman for allowing me the opportunity to try. Please remember me next year.

This beer poured out as a nice slightly hazy golden orange color. The head is white, fizzy and thin. The head retention is minimal without much lacing. The smell of the beer has a fresh spicy aroma mixed with the Saison yeast aromas. The taste of the beer has a big pumpkin spice flavor with the earthy softness of the Saison style. The mouthfeel of this beer has a sharp carbonation with a light drinkable body. Overall this beer was really pretty good. I felt this was a very good brew to have with thanksgiving dinner. Worth trying for sure.
