Golden yellow, bright and cloudy at the same time. Very visible fermentation, big head that settles but stays around a while. Lots of light spices in the nose: coriander, some lavender, a hint of cinnamon/allspice. Some sweet honey, citrus, and maybe some wheat. Sweet, honey-like flavor up front. Some spices come through in taste as well. Very similar to the aroma, including the lack of bitterness. A bit tart, but not very bitter.This is a bit thick for such a light beer, which also makes me think there might be some wheat in this beer.

Very interesting. It's not quite a Wit or a Hefeweizen, but it's not really a typical Belgian Strong Pale. This would be really great on a hot summer day. I can see myself cracking one of these open after a good run.

Pours a murky orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, honey, and fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with malt and umami flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earthy bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with an interesting aroma and flavor from the Sweet Gale used.

Suprising beer. Nice bio-label. Nice thought to combine beer with gale, it gives real personality.

L: gold, reasonable lasting top;
S: the less best part of the beer; wet towel;
T: here comes the surprise, the gale comes through, with a touch of peppermint and thyme, citron;
M: lovely summer beer, light feeling;
O: respect!

330 ml stubby bottle, poured into a tulip glass. I got this into an organic goods grocery store. ABV 7,5%.

Pours a nice orange gold colour, with a thick head of two fingers, good retention and light lacing left behind. Slighty hazy.
Strong gale aroma, very unique. Some light alcohol smell. Probably there are other aromas too but gale overpowers everything else.
What a fantastic taste! Quite bitter and hoppy, the gale once again very notable, making it extra refreshing. The alcohol very nicely conceiled.
Medium dryness on the palate, medium to full body and just enough carbonation.
Overall a great beer, with a very unique taste, at least I, haven't met before a beer that tastes like that. Highly recommended.

Poured into a tulip glass gave a solid white head over an inch, colour is an orangey amber gold, slightly cloudy with yeast. Has really good retention and leaves good lacing.

Smell is crisp, with a solid yeasty base. A herbal bitter edge from the gale. Malt is pretty solid, fresh and bready. Some floral overtones.

Taste is an initial crisp bitterness. Then more herbal and earthy gale character comes, through. Makes a really interesting combination and has a real unique complexity of flavours, yeasty and bitter boggy and floral esters. Finish is dry, slightly yeasty, floral.

Mouthfeel has a moderate carbonation, medium body, refreshing, alcohol is not noticiable and it is a refreshing and drinkable ale. Carbonation is soft and makes for a pleasingly creamy and dry mouthfeel. Finishes really crisp and dry in style.

Real big fan of the flavour of this beer. First tried at the Beerworks, CA, and then again now. Not only is it a well-made and balanced Belgian Pale but its flavour profile is highly unique and interesting because of the brewing process, an interesting take on the style, encourage people to try it.

This pours a cloudy golden straw-tan with billowy foam atop of it. There’s a distinctly floral, honeyed, almost-pollen aroma. Flavor is light, delicate, and sweetly floral. I am not familiar with gale but I will forever associate it with this brew. No indication of the 7.5% ABV in the least. Light and crisp with a curious finish. This was delightfully delicious and an interesting alternative to hopped ales.

This is a nice, smooth pale ale. Sweet tones stay constant. Mild bitter tone. Earthy. Definite spice tones evident. More of a rustic pale ale and pretty good at that. Glad I decided to take my time to check out a new store where I discovered this one.

First had: on tap at TJ's, Paoli, PA

Poured a golden-straw color with a nice puff of white head; nice retention and ample lacing. Organic aroma, spicy, woody, leafy, touches of indistinct fruit. Herbal and spicy on the palate, leafy and flowery, notes of fruit, tea, and yeast. Medium-bodied, smooth and easily drinkable, moderately drying. Very nice.

A: cloudy, orange colour, nice head

S: loads of fruit, something floral, some yeast; very different

T: same as the smell; peach, lychee, loads of flowers; bitter aftertaste; a little dusty

M: medium body, alcoholic, dry finish

O: interesting, different, but not my cup of tea

11.16 oz bottle was poured into a tulip glass. Happy to have scored this marked down at Gordon's in Waltham, MA.

Appearance: The beer poured a one finger puffy head that has reduced a little. It is a hazy orange yellow with some clarity and bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: apples, pears, vanilla, bready notes, Belgian candy aroma, and I am sure the gale in this beer is giving a specific aroma too.

Taste: everything mentioned above and nicely tasty too.

Mouthfeel: dry, smooth, medium carbonation, medium bodied, a little chewy, and easy to drink.

Overall: a solid BPA that I can add to the mix, but last week was the first time I have ever seen it. Might have to go back to Gordon's and buy more before they are off the clearance rack.

Had on tap at Max's in Baltimore. A nice tart, refreshing beer that reminds me of something you'd want on a hot day on a patio. Nothing too crazy in terms of taste, and the 7.5% ABV is well hidden, but when you're at a place with 102 rotating taps you'll end up trying beers like this. Solid beer, although nothing to write home about.

A-Pours a hazy honey. Head is large. Great retention. Interesting and abundant lacing patterns.

S-Honestly I first thought it smelled like marinating spices (mostly derived from a peppery aroma). Aside from that, there is some sweetness, some fruitiness, and a hard-to-describe note that must be 'gale' (not sure what gale is anyway).

T-The flavor is a bit more pleasant than the nose, but also displays the disjointed combination of flavors. It just doesn't really mix well for me. The flavors combat each other and do not flow down the same stream. Sweet but peppery. Herbal, like dandelion stems. Hard to describe.

M-Lots of carbonation. Medium bodied. Slippery.

O/D-Was not exceptionally pleasant. In fact, I did not really like this too much. It was a 'Tale of Two Sips' for me. The first sip I hated, the second I could have sworn I enjoyed, then the third I went back to hating. Amidst the confusion, I rarely found pleasure in this beer. But it was rarely offensive at any point.

Poured hazy golden straw with tight bubbles. Light body and carbonation appropriate for the style.

Earthy, herbal, yeasty Belgian yeast gets funkier as the beer warms; freshly mown weeds over wet hay.

Taste is sweet and herbal: the Gale becomes more pronounced as the beer warms. Hops almost non-existent/imperceptible except for a slight warming at the end. Gale tastes herbal like tarragon, with some very mild citrus qualities. In the beer it heightens the Belgian malts and sweetness, laying on herbal quality. Sweet Astringent.

Overall, I really nice break from hop bombs and heavy beers. Would make a welcome addition to summer grilling.

On Tap,

Gangleer looks very light in color boasting a very faint yellow with some white towards the edges. Looks like a wit bier. A nice whisp of bright white suds up top leaving rings down the glass. A nice amount of activity in the body. Smell is very geared to a hefeweizen IMO. I get a good bit of bananer with some faint wheat. A small dash of alcohol and some pale malts to round this out. Im wondering if the geen addition is bringing on that hefeweizen essence? Taste is pretty nice considering im not a huge banana fan. I get that, but I also get some light tropics with some wheat/earthy taste rounded out by slight grain and some Belgian yeast influence towards end. I don't get alot of alcohol, if any at all, it's pretty much buried. Feel is preety much light, if not a step above with alot of bubbles and activity on the mouth, not dead in any way. I could of easily drank a pint of this but not sure if I would go over that. This was a surprise from a brewery I never heard of.

Picked this up at the Biergarten in Jenks...

Pours straw colored with 3 fingers of pearl colored head. Superior lacing & good head retention

S: Oaky, sprucy^ lemony notes

T: Almost a gingerbread type flavor, dryness, some bitter/woody herbal notes up front. Herbal & honey malt notes, grassyness & just a smidge of pineapple as this warms. Finishes grassy, juicy with plenty of pineapple sweetness just a bit of ginger

MF: Medium bodied with creamy carbonation, nice balance

A decent one off type of Belgian Strong Pale Ale, not something I would to session on, but enjoyable none the less
