Sampled at the Distillery from the very first keg available to the public. Excited about this new brewery opening in my backyard!
Poured a dark brown with reddish highlights and a creamy ivory head that leaves nice lacing as it fades. Nice Brown Ale aromas of roasted nuts, chocolate, caramel, and some nicely bitter hops. Flavors follows the nose nicely, lots of expected Brown Ale flavors of chocolate, coffee, and roasted nuts but again the finish is a nicely bitter blend of espresso and resinous hops. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, with a medium body and good carbonation. Overall a very solid Brown Ale, I'm gonna re-visit this many times!

Also had this on tap at The Distillery. Went local over a lot of other solid drafts. Dark brown to black with reddish hints at edges. Thin head which faded fast. Not picking up much aroma here. Taste is hoppier than most brown ales I've had. Some tobacco and rye flavors. Not getting the chocolate here. Kinda thin watery feel and a metallic aftertaste. Not feeling this one.

What a pleasant surprise!
A: Thick creamy head with nice lacing.
S: A little mineral, a little chocolate.
T: Malt in the front, shivery soapy hops at the aftertaste. Quite a hoppy brown, really - but without screaming 'ZOMG 'Hopzorz!1!' at you. It's nicely balanced and not medicinal at all. The aftertaste IS a smidge medicinal though, an inevitable outcome of the hops.
MF: Round, not too prickly.
