Pours dark, opaque brown with a frothy bone white head that settles around a finger and a half. The nose is tart with hints of white grapes, green apples, definite woody characteristics, hints of chocolate, prunes, raisins and some musty, funky scents and maybe just a hint of almonds. The taste is really interesting. Its very similar to the nose but the fruits are very forward. Green apples, sour cherries, white grapes, plums, grape juice, hints of brown sugar and vanilla, there's a bit of spice to it like clove or cinnamon but not the flavors so much as the spice feel. There's a slight note of chocolate and oak for just a moment before sour apples overtake again. The fruit flavors make your mouth water, its pretty interesting. The mouthfeel is medium to light. This is an awesome beer. Odell is another one of those companies who has every day beers that are just "meh" but their specialty releases are amazing.

A: pours a dark brown with a slight scarlet hue with a dense and long lasting off white head that retains very well into a Duvel tulip
S: smells of sourness, sour cherry, and slight vanilla and oak
T: tastes of sour cherry and all sorts of sourness, a slight funk, hint of sweetness, a bit of vanilla and oak and a hint of chocolate maltyness. swallow is quite mellow with some nice oakyness on the finish with a bit more pleasant maltyness and a slight lingering sourness
M: medium in the mouth with slightly vigorous and quite apparent carb that is a bit prickly on the palate. good drying finish as well
O: delicious and delightful. great flavors, great sourness and a decent balance of other flavors. Highly recommended

Pours a dark brown color. One inch head of an off-tan color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of cherry sourness, alcohol, sweet malt, slight pale malt, and slight oak. Fits the style of a Flander Oud Bruin. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of slight liquor, alcohol, oak, cherry sourness, sweet malt, and slight malt. Overall, great appearance and blend; the body is pleasantly sour and the liquor flavors are not dominate.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Pours with a huge cream head. Deep red/brown body. Never quite settles.
Smell - Very acidic. Nice cherry acidity. Lots of malt and vanilla.
Taste - The malt comes out more here. Malt, oak, and vanilla come through nicely. Extremely sour, but it drops off after the initial taste.
Mouthfeel - Well carbonated. Over sour, but nice.
Overall - I rather enjoy this. Great barrel flavors.
