So it has been a while since this beer as been released. Lets see how it is. Pours a still cloudy straw colored yellow with some amber hues around the edges. A fizzy carbonation with good retention but didnt last through the tasting.
Nose has most notes of its prior self. Some belgium character with funk. A good lemony and tropical undertones. No real hop note though as compared but a noticeable esters. Light estery pineapples and mangos. A hint of mango and peach. Some funk and a light butyric dirty drains (actually I expected more).
The taste is similar. A tart dry malt note with a muddled backing. Some grainy almost pils like character with maybe a hint of bready. Some fruity esters but lighter then the nose. Some stone peach and pineapple. Some funk, saddle oil like notes. Light dirty drains. Finishes dry and leaves a touch pepper notes.
Body is dry and light but not that much difference to it fresher. Carbonation is a touch high but not over the top. Overall still a good beer but if you are looking for more funk then give it more time.

Odell Brewing Company's Footloose is a small-batch golden sour ale. The brew pours a hazy golden-peach color, and with a thin cap of white foam topping it off. A fruity bouquet (lemon, peach & tropical fruit) quickly gives way to barnyard funk and some tart lactic notes. The tartness is slightly restrained on the pallet, but helps to blend the subtle flavors of lemongrass, peach, mang, and pineapple. Medium bodied, Footloose is also lighter in carbonation. One of the brews featured at the Small Batch Festival in Fort Collins, and one of our new favorites from Odell's.
Cheers!

they dont quite have this one dialed yet, but its still pretty good. on tap at the brewery, this pours a cloudy dark yellow o orange color with almost no head. looks rather thick and flat. smells vinegary at first, but with some more subtle brett notes in there as well, also some light pitted fruit, apples or pears maybe. flavor is less sour than the nose indicated, but with a nice tartness to it. the fruits are still prominent as well. not totally balanced, but well flavored brew. feel is off to me a little bit, this has way too much body for what it is, and not nearly enough carbonation. it still works in a way, but to me these proportions need to be improved a bit. a lighter more brightly carbonated feel would make this much better. overall i think this is a beer in progress, and its off to a pretty good start.

Enjoyed at the brewery. How could I resist a one-off sour! Mostly clear gold with a thin pfft of white foam. I could tell on the swirl that this one had a bit more heft than a lot of sours. Minimally funky with a bit of tropical fruit and musk. A clean lactic twang of sourness is the base of the beer, while a honey-like sweetness on the finish is rather surprising. Hops and malt seem to stay out of the way (or disappear). Certainly pleasant, but it seems to be missing something...complexity. Maybe some more age or blending would do the trick.

Barrel-aged with brettanomyces and lactobacillus. Odell brought this beer to the 2012 Arizona Strong Beer Festival. Poured into a taster glass.
Bright pumpkin-orange. Very cloudy, with a thin, wispy off-white head.
Lemon juice and vinegar in the nose. Light touch of peach, a bit of barnyard funk and honey. It’s a little light, but enjoyable.
Gentle smack of tartness in the flavor. It’s like a slightly soured American blonde, with light lager notes and a soft fruity character. Pear, honey and bits of biscuit emerge.
Soft, massaging carbonation in a medium body. Crisp, slightly drying finish.
Footloose is a one-off and should probably stay that way. Interesting, but not worth a repeat visit.
