Simply one of, if not the best IPA's out there. It fires on all cylinders, every time. This brew never fails to impress even the most stingy of hop lovers. An absolute must try. Doug O'dell can retire (die?) happy knowing he's the worlds leader in American Style IPAs.

More Odell beers from the Missouri trip to try; up next is the IPA. Cheers.
The best-by date is a month from now: “6/7/13A.”
A: Deep copper color with an incredibly sudsy head; lines of lacing all the way around.
S: Grassy, piney hops with a grapefruit, orange, and floral tones – a bit leafy, like raw hops. Light caramel and vanilla with tones of biscuity, toasted malt.
T: A resinous hoppiness from start to finish, tastes of pine and oily citrus in force. Grass, ginger, and a sweet, crisp mango taste complicate the hop flavor, building a complex character of bitter-sweetness. Hints of oat and sweet malt swell to a mild finish.
M: Moderate body, though with a carbonation that’s light enough to accentuate a slicker texture. Quite drinkable, though.
O: A run-of-the-mill IPA with a few streaks of greatness. I’d really like to try it when it’s less than a month old (though that’s true for most beer), but as of now, it’s pretty tasty.

Another top shelf offering Odell! Just what are those guys doing over there in Colorado. This is my second eye opener from them. This IPA has a character that can be sharply distinguished from others. It had the sharp accent of a particular resinous flavor that I have mulled over for the last 20 minutes struggling to identify it. Unfortunately...I had only one bottle and it was gone before I could nail it.
At first I had wanted to say pumpkin rind but that wasn't it - so I'll have to settle on pine cone resin - in my fading afterglow until I buy a six pack.
A = Hazy amber
S = Herbal, pine
T = Sharply resinous...I'm favoring towards describing it as woody pine cone
M = Perfect IPA mouthfeel

Had last weekend in Omaha.
A: Pours a clear gold color with a nice, one-finger eggshell colored head. Nice lacing down the glass.
S: Light pine aroma with a good dose of grapefruit and citrus.
T: A good pine hop flavor upfront balanced by some a malt flavor that has both caramel and bready aspects. Very well balanced. A really solid IPA.

A solid "go to" beer for me that I typically recommend to anyone seeking a Colorado IPA. I love to order it when out to dinner or catching a game at the bar. As I've been introduced to more and more Cali IPA's, however, this one has been pushed down the list, but not too far. Love this beer!!!
