First had: on tap at Brickwall Tavern, Asbury Park, NJ
Well this was a pleasant surprise. Very nice IPA here! Slightly hazy golden-amber color with a well-retaining white head that left layers of lacing on the glass. Nice aroma of fresh hops, citrus and tropical fruit, underlying biscuity malt sweetness. More of the same in the taste, fresh and crisp with citrus hops, tropical fruits, pine needles, good balance of bitterness and biscuity malt sweetness, higher ABV was well-hidden. Medium body, and quite enjoyable, enough for me to go back for seconds. My first beer from Kane, and hopefully not my last.

Appearance: sunny, orange, hazy, white collar, light lace.
Aroma: heavy pineapple, tropical fruitiness, orange, grapefruit, mango, with an assertive pine note.
Taste: tropical fruit sweetness, mangos, papaya, pineapple, orange zest, light maltiness, intense bitterness and linger. Light pine needles on the finish.
***Not quite as drinkable as the Head High. No alcohol could be perceived, but its very intense on the palate. Great flavors and aromas, still. Broken up into sections, the growler was manageable...anything otherwise would have be a chore!
Thanks Jon!

Growler poured into a tulip
A brilliant orange color with a touch of haze. About one finger of off-white foam and some moderate lacing revealing sip marks coats the inside of the glass.
Big piney bitterness leaps first. Grapefruit, papaya, guava, weed, pineapple, and apricot round out a strong nose. A very faint whiff of alcohol and some sweet malt underneath.
Huge simcoe notes throughout this beer. Big piney bitterness from start to finish, with juicy tropical fruit. Sweet malt is low in the mix, pummeled by a huge hop profile. Notes of papaya, guava, pineapple, apricot poke through the middle before a bitter rush of pine resin and ruby red grapefruit in the finish.
Medium body, chewy and resiny. The bitterness on this guy builds considerably with each sip. By the end of my second glass, the bitterness is clinging to my teeth. Definitely an enamel ripper.
This is an excellent DIPA. Reminds me of double simcoe meets ghandi bot with a dose of abrasive. Nice job, Kane.
