The neighborhood is poppin, the place is feeling beer respect and the food is on point. Mexican with a BBQ angle. Beer is eclectic with a craft pedigree. When I visited with my daughter (on the way to a nearby Mets game) they were rockin a mess of Belgians which went well with the Mex BBQ.
Appropriate glassware, growler fills to go, friendly staff, food was tasty, mutiple quality craft options from near and far all adds up to a worthy option and a place I would be at all the time if I lived on the neighborhood

I really liked the vibe at this place which was also my first venture out to Astoria in years (I'm a relatively new transplant to the NYC area and used to only visit a couple of times a year). The place had that combination of loft openness with exposed brick walls yet had very nice lighting, comfortable bar stools, and a few flat panel TVs. The place was pretty mellow though I did visit for brunch/lunch on a Sunday.
The beers we ordered were poured into proper glassware for the styles and tasted very fresh.
The service was excellent, the bartenders were knowledgeable about the beers and were quite willing to make suggestions if you weren't sure what you were looking for... Also, I was impressed in that the bartenders were "pushing" you to take a sample of the beer before you got the full pour to make sure that you would be happy with your selection - lots of places will pour you a taste if you ask but few make sure to offer it with each beer ordered. We sat at the bar so the bartenders also took care of our food orders.
The selection was pretty good at this place, focusing mostly on craft beers on tap (I didn't even check to see what they might offer in bottles) including a couple of locals. There was a good mix of styles and quite a few Belgians in preparation for celebrating Belgian Independence Day.
The food was quite good - we had the Hangover Cure and the Pulled Pork Sandwich both of which were very good. The chorizo hash side was large enough to be a main course and the jalepeno + goat cheese cornbread was very enjoyable.
Prices were a little on the high side but nothing outrageous.

I came here for excellent beer and food and that is what I got. Brick interior, lit moderately with a few flatscreens. Maybe 10-12 can be seated at the bar in backless yet comfy stools. Troeg's chalkboards inform you of the options of growler-fills or flights.
Taps include Mikkeller, Ithaca, DFH, Firestone, Founders, Brooklyn Brewmaster's Reserve Series making the selection a cut above the average craft beer joint. Food menu suggests styles to pair with each dish.
Elk Burger cooked medium-rare as per request and was delicious, Rare Tuna Burger was also excellent. Didn't ask about bottles as they probably have none with such an excellent tap selection. This is quite a destination, unless you're lucky enough to live in this neighborhood.
