Having just moved to the area, I stopped in for dinner and a few beers to check the place out. I stopped in around 8 on a Tuesday night. I walked in and chose a seat at the the bar. This is a pretty small bar, with a bar that seat about 10. The parking here is also an issue. I happened to get one the only open spot when I stopped in. There is a motel directly behind this pub so everything is pretty tight.
Being new to the area, I was excited to see the beer list. There was nothing super exciting. About a quarter of the beers could be had just about anywhere. None of the others were anything special, but all were solid choices. The service was good, but definitely not great. Even on a slow night sitting at the bar no one ever checked up on me. Every time I wanted anything I had to ask, and most of the time the people behind the bar seemed like I was inconveniencing them.
I was very happy with the food. I had the prime rib sandwich with red potatoes. It was VERY good. For dessert, I had the bread pudding. The pudding was borderline spectacular. The pudding was by far the the highlight of the night. I guess that says everything you need to know about the beer.
This is a very nice pub with a strong beer selection. The food is very good, but the beer is very overpriced for what you get. I understand smaller pours on high alcohol beers, but several 5% beers had smaller pours with prices in the 6-7 dollar range. This pub is definitely worth trying for the good food and good selection, but I doubt I'll be a regular.

I am a Frederick Native, and its outstanding to finally have a good brew pub that actually has some good beers aside from brewers alley and flying dog
The place is pretty small about 12 small tables and bar seating for 15, it a really chill and laid back place. Though there prices are a bit steep its good to actually see some great stuff on tap and im willing to pay the extra buck or two, The owner Chris is a real nice guy and really knows his stuff...The service is outstanding and i went to school with most of the people that work there so its a really good time for me...They have 20 taps and they rotate through different beers quite frequently...I was just there tonight and enjoyed Nugget Nectar they had just tapped the day prior, they also had a good assortment of DFH, Flying Dog, and Mikkeller beers....I love the food here its a bit pricey if u break into the entrees but they have some amazing sandwiches for great prices and the chef (Kevin) is a great guy and a good friend of mine...Overall its a great place to go enjoy acouple brews and some good conversation

I visited this place, about 2 weeks ago, pleasantly surprised to find that Frederick had finally gotten its beer bar. For a city of its size and relative beer culture (Brewer's Alley, Barley and Hops, Flying Dog) its been long overdue. On to the bar...
Upon entering this small establishment one is given a choice, a seat at the bar, a wooden, new looking bar that seated around 10 or so, or a table, maybe about 8-10 tables in all. I sat at the bar with my fiance (soon to be wife!), and ordered a few beers. The tap list, though relatively small (20 taps) does rotate a bit, and offers a nice mix of local and national brands. I started with a 12oz pour of Old Rasputin, then had a 16oz Flying Dog Porter, and finished with a 12oz Victory Hop Wallop, all clean and no signs of dirty taps. I have to complain though, the prices were quite steep, with the Hop Wallop running me over 6-7 bucks, but I know this new place surely has some loans to repay...
On to the food. The chef, a young guy was out and about, brought us our food, and asked us how we liked it. Its nice to find a bar with a chef that cares about their food. The twice baked potato skins (skins filled with whipped potatoes) were amazing, the black olives stuffed with feta were also...amazing. The entrees looked good, though I passed on this occasion due to the steeper price on drinks. I did, however, partake in the dessert offerings, as did my fiance. She ordered the blueberry and peach cobbler (not really a cobbler, but a mini cobbler with shortcake bread, not crust), which was quite a letdown, though decent. I ordered the chocolate creme brulee, and well, its was amazing, just outstanding, needed a glass of milk though.
All in all, this place is good. Its good for Frederick and the area surrounding Frederick, and its good for the food scene. The chef is young, so I expected some bad with the good, but I was given some great food. Definitely stop by this place and partake in its nice tap selection and good food.
