Notes:
The 2012 harvest on our Mom & Pop’s farm was fruitful and this brew uses 100 fresh pumpkins and 40 organic squash. We prepared, cooked, and pureed all the gourds with the help of our friends at Carrie Anne’s Modern Diner. A blend of autumn spices adds to the intense pumpkin flavors. Uses locally grown Triticale from MA.

Basically, I really liked this beer. Pour was a nice, deep golden color, decent head with enough retention. Aroma wasn’t overwhelming - kind of subtle like the kitchen after the pie baking is done. Taste followed suit - not one dominant flavor, nice sweetness in the brown sugary way, seemed balanced pretty well to me. Flavors of roasted pumpkin at the end, and the sweetness lingered a tad. Lighter mouth feel than some of the other pumpkins wife and I have tried. A very enjoyable brew and worth the search IMO. Snagged the last three bottles at the local shop

Dated October 2012, might be a bit old at this point (6 months).
A: Pours a hazy orange with an enormously frothy tan head. Fades at a moderate pace. Zero lacing. Decent head retention.
S: Nice mild pumpkin and pumpkin spices. Cinnamon and nutmeg mainly. Decent sweetness to it, brown sugar maybe? Maybe caramel?
T: Mild, mellow flavor. Decent pumpkin. Spices aren't overpowering like most pumpkin ales (lager in this case). Again with the nutmeg, just a little bit of cinnamon. Some caramel and brown sugar.
M: Fairly light bodied but not nearly watery. Smooth.
O: Hmph, a nice pumpkin beer. I was expecting it to be very thin due to only 5.5% ABV but it's nice and smooth and borderline creamy even. Very mellow and easy drinking. Reminds me a lot of CBC's The Great Pumpkin, not huge lot a lot of them out there (Pumking), just an easy drinking and well balanced brew.

Great big 23 oz pour on tap at my favorite local beer spot. Pours hazy amber with a nice frothy white head that refuses to die. The aroma is pie spices and... Whoa! Actual pumpkin! Love that part of this beer. There is actual pumpkin aroma and flavor in this beer, not just spice. The spice is fantastic as well. The beer is pretty light and effervescent in terms of mouthfeel. It is a very balanced approach to a pumpkin beer. I could drink this one all night... Hey I just ordered another! I love the creative stuff Jacks Abby is doing with lagers. It is a pretty crisp, refreshing yet bold and flavorful approach to craft beer that seems to impress every time. Very solid overall.

500ml bottle poured into HF glass.
A- Pours a slightly translucent brownish orange amber color with about a half finger of head that recedes fairly fast and leaves some spotty lacing. Nice slowly rising but consistent carbonation bubbles.
S- Cinnamon, nutmeg, hint of ginger, subtle pumpkin, very pleasant aroma that has a nice strength to it. Almost smells just as good as Good Gourd.
T- Pumpkin, some subtle squash, cinnamon, finishes with more cinnamon and other "fall" spices. Well balanced for a pumpkin beer, with a nice touch of cinnamon that doesn't dominate too much.
M- Medium bodied to a little bit on the thin side, nice carbonation, goes down very easily.
O- This is definitely a nice pumpkin beer and another great beer from Jack's Abby. These guys are definitely proving they can do a variety of lager styles. If you like pumpkin beers I definitely recommend checking this out.

A - Big ruby/amber coloration. Small head. Little lacing.
S - Hugely robust pumpkin aroma, bread, nutmeg, cinnamon.
T - Big pumpkin flavor, red apple, dull dead malt.
M - Fairly thick. Has the thickness of apple cider almost. Almost no carbonation. Not much hoppage here.
D - Very, very boring beer. Wouldn't get this again and wouldn't recommend it.

500ml bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a clear copper, with 2 fingers of rich off-white head. This retains with a sturdy ½ finger, leaving back sudsy swathes of lace. The aroma smells of raw, vegetal pumpkin, spice and earthy citrus. Sweetness mixes in along the back, giving this a ripe and spicy twang in the nostrils.
The taste is green pumpkin flavor and earthy hop bitterness. A tight doughy sweetness sits on the edges, while a light festive spiciness mostly sticks to the malt. This is dry with some slight lingering bitterness on the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with an easy smooth crispness that flows well in the mouth.
This wasn’t bad at all. It was a tad vegetal in the nose but really smoothed out nicely as this warmed up as more spice and sweetness emerged and I really liked how this kept the pumpkin character at the forefront while retaining the drinkable smoothness of a Lager. This is another nice beer from Jack’s Abby and I’m definitely going to be checking out more from them.

16.9oz bottle poured into a Pilsner glass.
A: Pours a deep auburn color with great clarity. Two inches of creamy white head have good staying power. A thin coating of lacing blankets the glass and eventually settles in thick little collars.
S: The nose is a deft balancing act featuring scents of pumpkin spice (cinnamon and nutmeg being most prominent), layered gourdy aromas, and an interesting toasty, rough around the edges grainy smell. Very clean.
T: Strong spice presence of cinnamon, nutmeg, and perhaps ginger on the attack. Brown sugar. Sweet squashy tastes and an evenly smooth grainy and slightly wheaty malt base begin to grow in intensity until they rival the spice flavors. Finishes with intermingling flavors of pumkin spice and butternut squash with brown sugar.
M: Medium bodied. Malt texture is firm yet slightly fluffy at the same time. Very smooth and creamy. Moderate carbonation accents perfectly.
O: As far as pumpkin beers go, this one is a bit different. All the requisite spicing is there, and it's kept in check just enough to let the rest of the beer have a voice. Sweet butternut squash, rather than pumpkin, seems to be the dominant gourd flavor. The grain bill is also very interesting. This is my first experience with triticale, which I've been informed is a hybrid of wheat and rye. The wheaty aspects definitely come through, though a little more subtly. I'd guess they also have some more traditional German malts in the mix too, judging by the slight firmness of body. Very innovative, yet still not a total departure from the German brewing tradition. It definitely evokes the spirit of the season. Good stuff.
