Notes:
Using 100% locally-sourced ingredients, this lager features hops grown by our Mom and Pop on the family farm in VT, and MA-born hops too. Malted barley and unmalted spelt and wheat provide the finishing touches for this all-local brew. A mild, earthly hop aroma mixes well with malty cereal notes. Not to be confused as an extra hoppy beer, this is a nicely balanced and pleasantly hopped lager.

Took me a little longer than I thought to get to sample this one. But at last I finally get to it.
Big creamy 1 finger fluffy head fades fairly slowly with some foamy lacing, over hazy golden honey colored beer.
Nose light wet hops, a little grassy, hint of tropical fruit and citrus like, little floral and aromatic, some light resin and oily hop like aromas, light fluffy golden malt, a hint of lager yeast fruity like additions and almost a lemony floral saison aroma.
Taste crisp to start, some bready biscuit malts, light golden malts, little hay and wheat almost pilsner malt, light grainy wheat saison like flavor, light lager yeast crispness and little fruitiness. The hops are light again, little musty resinous bitterness, light spicy floral hops, touch grassy, just a little fruity hop, some citrus and light resin, and just a bit of oil. Finish is dry and crisp, floral hops, airy, little bitterness, light lemony zest, little grassy lingering.
Mouth is med to lighter bodied, decent carb.
Overall OK but not great. It's a decent base, but the hops don't seem to come through as much as they could, even for wet hops. The malt and lager base is nice, and the interesting light saison like twist is nice as well, but the hops just don't do it.

A: Golden Pale, small head that dissipates instantaneously
S: Wheat, summer, minor must scents
T: Watery, some mild wheat notes.
M: Little more flavor, wheat, some minor malt notes.
O: Easy drinking session beer but really nothing special. After having the cheaper IPL, I don’t think I’d ever buy this again as their other main beers are less expensive and much better.

Mom & Pop’s Wet Hop Lager opens to a nose that is surprisingly balanced for a beer whose name focuses more on hops than malts. Breads and grains are perhaps the most noticeable aroma, bringing biscuit, Grape Nuts cereal, floury baguette, rising wheat dough, and wet wheat stalks. The hops are a secondary aroma, but still add a pleasant and noticeable lemon, pine resin, and grapefruit rim to the breads and grains. There’s also a bit of brown sugar, and a smidgen of apricot and berry fruit esters. As a whole, the nose is very nice, speaking to a simple, but very well-made lager that has been meticulously balanced to feature the best of its ingredients.
On the tongue, the beer is more sugary than expected, with immediate brown sugar notes, as well as berry, orange, apricot, pear, and apple fruit esters. The sugars are delicious and sweet, and blend well with the (here, much lighter) breads and grains, which add floury baguette, biscuit, cereal, and light toast crust earthiness. The hops add touches of pine, lemon, grapefruit, and sweet rosewater, very nicely complementing the sugars and breads. The aftertaste is a lingering continuation of the main mouthful, but with slightly larger pine and grapefruit hop notes, and a plant-stem bitterness that is slightly reminiscent of dandelion stems. Mouthfeel is medium, and carbonation is medium.
Overall, this is an excellent lager, being finely balanced and featuring an excellent and surprising array of sweet sugars and fruit esters, as well as fresh hop notes. This would make for excellent summer fare, being on the lighter, but very flavorful side, and would also make for an excellent introductory beer to someone unfamiliar with craft brews, as it shows the range of flavors that a good lager should have.
