Using 100% locally-sourced ingredients, this lager features hops grown by our Mom and Pop on the family farm in VT, and MA-born hops too. Malted barley and unmalted spelt and wheat provide the finishing touches for this all-local brew. A mild, earthly hop aroma mixes well with malty cereal notes. Not to be confused as an extra hoppy beer, this is a nicely balanced and pleasantly hopped lager.

500 ml. bottle poured into a wine glass. Notes 5.2% from Mom & Pops Harvest Series. Pours clear and deep straw/golden with a thin off whit cap. Light retention. Aroma is hoppy but a bit indeterminate in nature. A fresh pour yields a somewhat spicy Saaz/Noble hop aroma through the foam. Slight haze on final pour, perhaps bottle conditioned.
Taste is full with some citric sweetness on the finish. Feel and finish match the delivery and add a slightly peppery and lemon spice to the close.
Nice moderately hopped lager with Noble hops apparently predominant, yet more complex than a pilsner by design. Offers a relatively full body for a 5.2% lager given spicy hop characteristics.
Brewed Sept. 2013 and reviewed from notes Jan. 2014.
