500ml bottle.

Pours hazy gold with some nice tattered sheets of lacework. A partial skimcoat on the surface for the duration.

Aromatics lead off with a blend of spicy hops, biscuity malt, and cracked grain. A hint of honey-drizzeled crackers follow through.

Medium bodied with a crisp, somewhat light mouthfeel.

Grainy, peppery malt, toasted biscuits, and sprucy hops start the palate. Crisp and sharpish with a good dose of rye pepper.

Finishes with fresh, crackery malt with hints of tropical fruit, pine, and pepper-dusted grains.

Nice beer, but after Hoponious Union I'm looking for more hops here.

R.I.P.L. Effect pours a hazy honey yellow with a small, creamy head on top. The foam disappears quickly leaving spots of lace on the glass.

The aroma is faint. It has notes of lemon citrus, pine and toasted malt.

Each sip of this medium bodied beer is soft with moderate carbonation. The flavor is very floral and piney. Some bready malt and lemon citrus are also present. There's a bit of sweetness in the background. It finishes with some rye spice. Once gone the lemon, pine and rye lingers on the palate.

The flavors don't seem balanced to me. The pine/lemon and flower flavor dominate. It could use more sweetness and a touch more bitterness for balance.

Clear gold with a large, lumpy white head. Thick layer of retention slathers foam all over the glass.

Light citrus like grapefruit hard candy and black pepper aroma. Mouthfeel catches my palette first - it's light, fluffy and pretty awesome. Spicy flavor, a mix of black pepper and malty rye with grapefruity pine pinpricks.

Not the hope bomb I've come to expect from JA but I have a feeling it's an old bottle. The fact that some of the hops have faded and its still this good is very impressive.
