Notes:
Aged in white wine barrels for three months with the wild yeast brettanomyces. Light notes of oak counter an intense funkiness from the wild fermentation. The base lager for this beer was brewed in the French farmhouse style. We added our own twist by adding 30% Rye Malt, locally grown Triticale from MA and amber Belgian candy sugar. We left this beer slightly hazy to accentuate the mild fruity yeasty character.

Frothy pour. Pale amber color with a tightly packed white head.
Smell is just straight sulfur. Like someone with lactose intolerance engaged themselves thoroughly at an ice cream festival, relieved their intestinal misfortune into the bottle and capped it. I really don't know what else to say here.
The smell carries into the taste. Over barreled. Unpleasant finish. Dull malt.
Both bottles I've had were exactly the same. Am I drinking the same beer as everyone else? It has the same label as the picture. This is a joke right?

Thanks to Ryan for sharing this one. Served in a Half Acre taster glass.
A - Generous white foam settles to a thick cap, leaving behind loads of lacing. Hazed orange-yellow body. Nice-looking brew.
S - Lots of brett presence, imparting notes of earth, funk, and mild sulfur. Not overly oaky, but somewhat vinous. Fairly neutral backdrop of bread and Belgian yeast. Don't get much of the rye or candi sugar.
T - The taste has more in common with the base. Similar to Private Rye, but with notes of white wine and tropical fruit funk. The sulfur I got in the aroma is thankfully gone, but there's still a mildly earthy character that lingers.
M - Smooth, medium body. Pleasant carbonation, chewy texture, pretty dry in the finish, with no perceptible alcohol.
D - I liked this quite a bit. The base beer lends itself to the barrel-aging and brett and enhanced the complexity without being overly heavy-handed. I hope they make this again, although I'm curious about what makes this a 'lager'.

Served in a Bruery snifter.
Big thanks to cbeer88 for this bottle!
Reviewed blind as part of Blind BIF 7. This stuff pours a hazy orange topped by two fingers of cream-white foam. The nose comprises mild orange zest, sweet flowers, a vague notion of wheat, and a touch of perfume-y white wine grapes. The taste holds notes of blood orange/tangelo zest, mango, light lemon peel, light coriander, light wheat, and a good portion of Brett funk (though I couldn't rightly identify this at first...I blame prior drinking and tiredness...). The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda dry finish. Overall, an interesting beer, to say the least. I believe I summed it up best for me by saying that though I would not purposefully buy this one myself if given the opportunity, but I wouldn't turn one down if given to me in some manner. Suffice it to say: I generally enjoyed it, but I didn't revel in it by any means.

1528th Review on BA
Bottle to Pinot Wine glass
500ml
July 2012 bottling
Thanks to BAs Rudzud & Jlindros
App- a nice medium colored orange with touches of golden and tan. A bit of a medium density with a good 1" head. Almost white and fell amazingly well. So pretty in the glass.
Smell- Well mainly I get the lager. Additionally the oak and tannins are there with some splendid rye under currants. A small amount of oak comes in and the brett brings that funk/must nose.
Taste- Why in gods name cant all lagers be turned into this. The brett brings a great funk and the lager is there but mellowed greatly. A little bit of spice from the rye and a lot of dryness from the white wine treatment.
Mouth- A more medium creamy body with a medium carbonation. Residual oak, brett and dry grassy funk. Lots of rye follows.
Drink- Are you sure this is a lager?? Wtf!! Why cant all lagers be like this. Rye, Brett and tasty as shit!!
