This location is right next to the Croydon train stop on the R7 (or Trenton line) of Septa Regional Rail. I have seen this place before as other bars. Hopefully the Dog & Bull can survive here because this is a gem of a bar.
They have 12 beers on tap. Looks like three will most likely always be Miller Lite, Guinness and Stella which is fine but the rest are top notch. They also have an impressive list of bottles and craft cans as well as 22 oz bottles. The 22oz will push you into the double digits pricewise but it's almost the same as if you went to a bottle shop. (Their website has an updated list of whats available. Check it out!)
The place is rather small so it could get crowded quickly. They also seem to have a lot of live music planned so if that's your thing they'll be here.
The Dog & Bull seems a little unknown for now. When I went there on a Friday night at 5 o'clock it was kind of crowded with a lot of BMC drinkers but after 6 the crowd disappeared. Another example of how unknown this place is was that none other than Pliny the Elder was on tap with no restrictions on how many you could have. It had been on tap since January 4th. At other local establishments this wouldn't been kicked that night let alone lasted more than a week.
They don't have the kitchen open yet but I believe it is coming very soon.

Stopped in on my way home from getting a growler fill at the Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company. NCBC is real close by and this bar features a couple of their brews on tap. The bartender was real friendly and eager to discuss craft beers with me although I think I talked his ear off. He didn't act put off, so I guess I didn't talk his ear off too much.
I love a place like this, good atmosphere, good selection of beers and I think it was a non-smoking establishment. It didn't have that rank stale smoke smell that usually greets you when you walk into a bar.
I started with an Ithaca Cascazilla, but the keg was kicked so I had to switch to Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin Ale. The bartender gave me a couple of free samples of different beers to help me decide. All beers were served in a tulip glass, but don't ask me if that was the right glass for the beers I was drinking.
It was recommended that I try the Cheddar Ale burger and I am glad for that because it was fantastic. It is pretty big and comes topped with crispy onions and bacon. I really am not a huge french fry eater, but the ones that came with the burger were quite delicious and definitely not from a frozen bag. I ate every crumb of food on the plate and I wasn't even that hungry.
To complete the perfection, the Pumpkin Ale was a very good pairing with the meal. I don't always concern myself with food and beer pairings, but their menu does make suggestions and it can certainly enhance the experience.
Highly recommend this place if you like good food, selection of beers, and friendly service.

Never even new this place existed. Located on 13 next to the Croydon train station and just a jump, hop, skip from the new Neshaminy Creek brewing facility. Parking is a little tight here and if you don't slow down you can blow right passed it.
Small inside but very comfortable atmosphere makes me feel like I am in a nice city bar. Chalkboards and t.v's surround the area with the tap listing, food specials and such. The bar pretty much takes up half of the room with a couple of high tables and chairs. Their is a nice little dining area in the back and that too is a bit of a tight fit.
Service was excellent bartender was freindly and the waitresses were even better, just seemed to know their job. I am sick of some of the half-assed bars in the area who serve there beer ice cold in a frozen glasses and "say were dedicated to craft beer". This place gives you none of that, proper glassware and proper serving temperature.
The only problem I did find were the prices not just for beer but food as well. Just seemed to be a dollar or two more for everything on the menu. Other than that a great place I will defineltey be back again.

The Dog & Bull is a little nuggent in the heart of Croydon, PA. It is a small place that can be overlooked. I know I overlooked it for a long time until we went in after bowling one night.
A good atmosphere and the people we very knowledgeable about the beers they had and ones that didn't, or would be getting in soon.
I went with a bit pricey since to drink good beer you have to pay a little more, but it is a good thing because it keeps the rift-raft out.
Overall I think this is my new place to head to from now on.
