Cafe Polonia is a Polish restaurant more than it is a bar. It does have a small bar on the left when you walk in. Nice clean looking space with freshly stained hardwoods and a few pieces of artwork hanging on the walls with a Polish theme to them. I like these type of places because we seem to have so few of them in the Boston area. Apparently this place is the sister restaurant to another location they have in South Boston in Andrew square. There is also some outdoor seating which is where we opted to sit on a nice Summer day.
The beer selection is very interesting although it is mostly bottled offerings with about 5 draft choices. Warka, EB, Lomza, Golden Pheasant, Zwiec porter, Kilikia Obolon, etc are some of the bottled offerings and many of these I had not even seen in the Boston area before so it was a pretty impressine selection. You can check their website to see what else they offer.
The food was very good although not the best Polish food I have had, it still hit the spot as I dont get to eat this type of food very often and I enjoy it quite a bit. They also have their food menu online and it looks to be current.
The service was about as good as you could ask for-quick and very friendly. Our waiter was also helpful if you had any questions about any of the food preparations, etc.
I am going to have to check their South Boston location out too as this place was a great find. Highly recommended.
