Pours a copper tinted amber, moderate cap of bone white foam. Scent is fruity - tropical and citrus - with a faint grassyness and light sweet malt. Taste is quite pleasant - fruity as nose dictated, crisp and clean, light grassyness, malts detected and lightly sweet but not a feature in the flavor. Again a touch too carbonated coming from Schmaltz, but good. Enjoyed this more than expected, could drink a few in a sitting.

12oz bottle purchased at Huckleberry’s in Spokane for $1.69. No freshness date, though it is Kosher. On the label, the malts (Specialty 2-Row, Munich, CaraMunich 40, Wheat, Dark Crystal) and hops (Warrior, Centennial, Cascade) are listed, along with what was used to dry hop (Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe).
Poured a hazy amber color. Lots of floaties could be seen when held up to light. Big, creamy off-white head that hung around for quite a while, leaving lots of beer-negligee style lace.
Despite all the types of hops listed on the label, what hop aroma there is tends to be soft and grassy. There’s a mild, bready malt scent as well.
A little more hoppy in the flavor department. It’s not a hop bomb, but it’s an agreeable amount for Schmalt’s goal of creating a session beer with hop flavor.
Somewhere between light and medium in the body, with a lightly oily mouthfeel.
Not a bad session beer, but its appearance makes me wonder at its age. Yet another brewery that needs to put “bottled on” or “best by” dates on their bottles. Despite that, if I could feel confident about how long it’s been sitting around, I’d definitely buy this again, as it seemed like a tasty warm weather beer.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle to a Poco Grande flute glass.
Pours a hazy orange to amber color with a 2 finger fluffy white head. Leaves a nice amount of clumpy lacing. Body is hazy with some floating sediment.
Smells of malts up front and a nice orange/citrus and some cat piss aromas as it warms up. Would like to have a bigger aroma since this was dry hopped with Simcoe, Centennial and Cascade.
Very easy to drink this one, nice earthy hoppiness followed by a nice sweetness in the middle. The finish is a nice dry bitterness.
Overall a very nice beer, super sessionable for sure. I cold very easily put several of these down on a hot summer day or chilly fall. Something I will be buying again in the near future.

Into a pint glass:
A: deep hazy brown colored body with a thick two finger white foamy head that ends up leaving a good amount of lacing in the wake, some rings
S: biscuit maltiness up front, light citrus/orange thing goin' on in the background, light hops once it warms a bit
T: soft sweet flavoring lingers all around and has a caramel aftertaste and quick dry sweet finish, slightly earthy and herbal as well, just like the smell hops come in once it warms a bit
M: light to medium, sessionable, carbonation seems to be spot on for the style and for me
O: for an APA at 5.2 and where it finishes, I'd say this would make an excellent early Spring/late Autumn brew as the depth adds a bit of complexity that is balancing and sessionable, of course I'd have another one of these

session ale? no. this is an English style malty filling sweet annoyingly deceptive beer. damnit. it pours a caramel hued honey color with an okay off white head and a ton of fish food yeast floaties weighing it down. the nose is English malt, sweeter and fuller bodied, not what I expected from something supposed to be hoppy and crisp, I don't smell hops at all. the flavor is almost like a copper ale, or an English pale, with all that caramel sweetness and doughy heft. nothing sessionable about this, its higher abv for the term, and drinks like a normal brew, only heavy and filling from the malt choice, and not refreshing like I expect a dry hop to be, very little bitterness in the finish. overall this full bodied malty beer might work as a session beer in October. but in the mid may context, it just doesn't work for me. skip it in favor of almost anything if you are looking for something to slam this summer.

Hazy amber golden-brown, with a thicker one-finger head, a nice-looking creamy one. Laced well.
Perfume to the nose right away, maybe some citrus or lemongrass hinting in there, but boy I don't recall ever whiffing a beer that struck me as perfume as much as this one. Curious. Since there's not much else to make out I'm going to say I'm indifferent to the scent; I'll call it one-dimensional and non-descript in that regard.
Upon tasting The perfume moves tight into sour bready malts and a hop profile im not partial to for some reason. Finishes a bit better than it tastes because of some pine, but any of the dominating hops seem to take backseat to the earthy caramel and sour bread.
Eh.
