Matherne's is one of the better beer stops in Baton Rouge. I've been here many times. While I don't often get asked if I ever needed help making a selection, I've gotten advice in the past. They have one of the better German and Belgian beer selections in Baton Rouge and they have some German beer that Calandro's does not have. Plus you can get some good deals on discount prices. They're cheaper than Calandro's on some selections. They have a long cooler with craft and macro and a shelf with six-packs, four-packs, bombers, and singles of imported and craft beer. They also now offer beer glasses. Their deli is also good. I would recommend giving this place a look if you're searching for beer in Baton Rouge.

Bottom Line - If you are in Baton Rouge looking for beer, the Highland Rd. store near Kennilworth is worth a stop.

A reasonable selection of Micros, Imports, and wine. The staff was available and seemed knowledgeable. All the beers I inspected were well within their freshness dates.

My main reason for visiting Matherne's was my quest to find the Rochefort10 retailers in Baton Rouge and my focus was on that and any similarly styled beer. This Matherne's location was my 2nd stop and I walked out w/ some Rochefort10, St. Bernardus Abt, Westmalle Dubbel, and a big btl McChouffe.
