Thanks to FeDUBBELFIST for sharing this on 11/13/10.
Poured into a snifter, this brew pours a light yellow color that is quite clear. Immediate reaction to this brew are thoughts of old yellow fizzy. A light ring of bubbles lays tight around the inside of the glass. Spotty lace clings to the glass when swirled. Not much of a head to speak for retension but the bubbles that appear are white and large.
The smell of this brew is quite lemony with some tart funk that is almost cheesy. A light earthy hop aroma comes in through the back with more citrus elements but the lemon character dominates.
The taste is quite lemony with a lingering taste of lemon rind that clings in the mouth with a little bit of an oily feel. This brew is tart, lightly fruity citrus notes outside of just lemon. However the major portion of the taste of this brew is lemon with a somewhat artificial taste reminescent of pine-sol. Lightly acidic and somewhat puckering.
This is a light bodied brew that is highly carbonated. Quite drinkable with a dominating lemon character throughout the nose and taste profile that seems too exaggerated to be just coriander or lemon zest/rind. Regardless it was an interesting experience and I would give it a go again if the price is fair, not more than $20 a bottle.

Had this one for many years, finally consumed a 2011 bottle at 2018 March Madness.
Pours a yellow color, light brass color infused with that, 1/3" white head, carbonation appears to have held up well on this cork & caged then electrical taped beer that was laid on its side over the years. Aroma had a chardonnay like wine sourness to it, quite nice.
Taste led by a lemon, green apple and grape like sour taste notes. Nice light body helped along by the malt usage of wheat and barley. Looking back, this was a lot like some of the beer/wine hybrids going on these days. It might not have been the most "complex" beer of all time, but sometimes the best ones are on the less complex side. Its pretty clean, even after all those years on its side in the cellar. Had some light hay notes, could have believed this was one of those sour saisons given that aspect. Mild dry finish.
I enjoyed my entire pour. Nothing unique here, just a fun beer to drink while watching your boys in the tournie.

Unknown vintage, $9.99 on sale, yep good deal.
Cork pops quietly, pours pretty standard, thin layer of white foam and good clarity. No lace, webby surface skim.
Aroma is oaky, definitely some damp wood, with a light acidic presence. Smells pretty nice.
Taste is a little one-dimensional but pleasant, tart lemon and crabapple, lychee, malic and citric acid.
Juicy tart and puckering at first, with vague woody traces in the dry finish. Light bodied with a light effervescence.
Overall this is a pretty prototypical AWA, i've passed on it for years due to the price but it's pretty good.

2014 750ml split between three people, you may be better off with five or six -- straight up briny woody lemon juice sourness and lots of it. Notes of champagne/white wine. Very sour and rather simplistic but this is a pretty wonderful wild ale. Well-carbonated, bordering on too intense but really great interesting flavor coming through.

While I wish there was more oak taste, the beer itself is solid. A nice blend of sour and grassiness. Not too sweet, and not too tart.
