I poured this one into a pint glass, it has a clear copper color body with a small fizzy head that lays down quiet quickly. The smell has a spicey hoppy smell to it. The taste has a spicy hop flavor to it with some pumpkin spices coming through on the middle of the tongue. I get a slight pumpkin flavor but more malt on the back of the tonuge. The mouth feel is good smooth, a little more heavier than other pumpkins but good. Overall this is good but needs less spice and hops and more pumpkin.

Not my favorite pumpkin by a long shot, but this is growing on me a bit as I drink through the sixer. Pours a dark amber with a head that sticks around as a thin cap. The smell and taste is quite gingery- and lacks a lot of the other pumpkin pie spices, and is also quite a bit thinner than I'd like. There is a chalkiness to the brew as well, as though raw spices were just dumped in. Completely lacks the silkiness of the pumpkin- either it wasn't used or not enough was, or perhaps the raw spices just overwhelm it. The spices leave a bit of a bitter taste in the mouth, but the ginger note is pretty tasty nevertheless. Needs more balance, or at least more integration.

Cisco's pumpkin ale is an interesting version of the style, relying more on hop and herbal flavors to complement the malt and pumpkin bill. While intriguing, I found the flavors somewhat off-putting, while the weak mouthfeel does little to make me want to sip more of this. In general, a pumpkin beer I'll avoid in the future.
Pours a nice, 2cm head of off-white foam composed of small bubbles. Recedes to a thick ring around the glass with some whispy foam lingering atop the body of the beer. Lacing is moderate, with a few choice swatches along the glass' edges. Body is a transparent copper color with medium-intensity carbonation, streaming up from the bottom center of the glass.
Aroma is moderately hoppy with an herbal tinge, vegetal, a bit compost-like, along with a biscuity, bready aroma that's heavier in the background. An interesting aroma, definitely different from the sweeter, pie-spiced, but perhaps too vegetable and herbal like, and not bready or pie spice enough.
Taste is overall kind of like a pumpkin-y, herbal-hoppy, slightly watered-down caramel malt soup. There's a distinct lack of pie spices here, instead herbal hops are the dominant spicing candidate. Tasting opens with toffee-like malt sweetness with a bit of bitterness and a slight Mid-palate is herbal, modestly bitter, and slightly sweet. Back of palate is more bitter with continued herbal undertones. Aftertaste is somewhat bitter, a bit grainy and sweet, with small hints of herbal flavors.
Beer is medium to medium-light bodied with medium to medium-low level carbonation. The resulting mouthfeel is a fairly smooth, somewhat creamy and foamy beer, but it is also disappointingly watery as the glass wears on. Finish is semi-dry.

Malty aroma has a yeasty overtone and a hint of spice. Pours a clear, dark, bubbly amber with a thick pale wheat head. Malty flavor has a hint of pumpkin and more than a hint of hoppy bitterness. Smooth texture has about average body and not a whole lot of fizz. If not the best pumpkin ale, worthy of at least a try.

12oz. bottle poured into a snifter
A- orange amber, tranlucent with decent carbonation coming up from the bottom. a half finger of egg-shell white head dissipates quickly, and leaves minimal lacing.
S- unfortunately, the best part. Nice notes of pumpkin, nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of allspice.
T- a bit of a sweet start, but quickly transitions into a funky mix of spice, a hint of pumpkin, floral and nutty notes emerge as well. The floral aspect comes off almost metallic and just doesn't jive with the rest of the brew.
M- light to medium carbonation, quite thin, and dry/metallic on the finish.
O- greatly disappointed in this one. It just doesn't work.

Pours dark amber with a fluffy off-white head that settles to a 1-inch cap. Moderate aromas of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and roasted nuts. Fairly middle-of-the-road, but pretty nice. Hovers around the spice end of the "Pumpkin Spice" spectrum, with more cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Nice and drinkable, like every other Cisco brew I've had. Mouthfeel is smooth and clean, with a medium body and ample carbonation. Nice, drinkable Pumpkin Beer that doesn't try to re-invent the wheel.

Pours a clear and deep copper color with a thin layer of head that dissipates quickly. Definitely some pumpkin on the nose and some sweet notes as well. There is certainly pumpkin flavors, but the malt taste is a touch more prominent than the pumpkin. A semi-dry finish completes a great tasting experience.
One of the better pumpkin ales that I have sampled this season.

Pours a light burnt orange color, active and bubbly white head. Scent leads with some notes of seasonal spice, lighter on the cinnamon and nutmeg, some floral and lemony hoppyness, biscuity sweetness and light green apple - where is my pumpkin? Not in the flavor either. Odd combination of light spicing, floral notes and lemon and green apple. Lighter side of medium, spritzy. Was wondering if this was another Shipyard with no actual pumpkin used.

Poured from tap into mason jar at coalhouse pizza, stamford, ct.
Pours an amber maple syrup brown color with thin lacing. Usual smell and flavor of nutmeg, cinnamon, and sweet malts. Its a good mellow pumpkin ale, not overly spicy but nice flavors. Good not amazing.

Julian date code printed on the bottle: 2332
Dark amber orange with a steady column of rising bubbles. Lasting soapy skim, rings of drippy lacing. Surface is pitted with larger bubbles bursting and forming craters. Looks good by all accounts.
Smells good, some of the usual nutmeg and earthy squashy pumpkin.
Taste is alright, fairly mild and easy drinking. Seems a little watery and flimsy after sitting with it for a bit. Lacks much pumpkin character, though some mild spice does linger (nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.). Plain and not over the top. Could do worse, though this beer isn't offering much in the originality department.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Brownish copper color, with an off white head of about two fingers. Very little lacing on the glass.
Smell: Malts, Hops, and some mild pumpkin and spices.
Mouthfeel/Taste: Medium bodied and very smooth and dry. Taste mostly of malts and hops with mild pumpkin and spices in the backround, enough to be tasted but not overpowering.
Overall: Very enjoyable brew. certainly one of the better pumpkins ales.

From 10/02/12 notes. Had on tap at Ginger Man in NYC.
a - Pours a medium, amber-orange color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of spice, pepper, pumpkin, dough, and bready malts. Pretty nice, a little heavy on the spice.
t - Tastes of pumpkin, dough, earthy notes, spice, bready malts, toasted malts, and light caramel malts. Taste has less spice than the nose and more dough and earthy notes. Pretty nice.
m - Medium body and low carbonation, body is pretty smooth. Pretty easy to drink.
o - Overall a pretty good pumpkin beer. A decent amount of spice and pepper to it, but easy to drink. Would have it again, though I drank it side by side with the Greenport Harbor Leaf Pile Pumpkin ale and preferred that one a little more.

A- Neat looking beer. Pours a hazy orange with nice layering of shades from top to bottom. Pretty distinctively pumpkin as the color gives of that ideal. A crisp off white head sits atop again making it very aesthetically pleasing.
S-Very very faint on the nose, but in given the proper amount of patience the scents reveal themselves to be a nice blend of ingredients. The nose presents more muted pumpkin than other pumpkin brews I have had, not sugary sweet however which was personally appreciated. The pumpkin is paired with hints of cinnamon and what may be allspice.
M-A decent body, nothing too exceptional. It is carbonated enough to make it a drinkable ale, but it does not enhance the flavor.
M-As with the nose, the flavors presented here are incredibly faint. Pumpkin is there, but hardly noticeable as are the spices and nearly non existent malts. The beer is very drinkable, but in the way that seltzer water can be. I appreciated the subtitles, but any overtones would have made this much more enjoyable.
O-Not for the untrained palate, as the notes are practically unnoticeable, but a decent ale for the time of the year.

This beer poured out as a brownish orange color with a white head on top. The dead settles not leaving much behind on the glass. The smell of the beer is moderately spiced with a subtle malt profile to it. The taste of the beer has a decent amount of spices in there too, there is a decent malt base to this beer also. The mouthfeel is a little sharp on the carbonation, there is a bit of warming sensation going on too from the spices. Overall this beer is pretty good, not something I'd look forward too having each year but it was nice to try.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had an orange-ish color and a clear consistency. There was a small amount of foamy head that lasted a fair amount of time. Pretty good lacing.
S: A decent, but not great, aroma of pumpkin, malt, and some spices.
T: Kind of goes off the rails here. There were traces of pumpkin, spices (a little cinnamon), and malt, but they were very low. The amount of pumpkin was negligible. Simply a thin flavor, with a decidedly herbal harshness.
M: A decent amount of carbonation with a harsh finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Certainly, this beer could have been better. It seems to be one of those brews that was half formed.

A: Pours a clear medium amber in color with moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a finger tall creamy off-white head that reduces to a thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light aromas of pumpkin and pumpkin spices (which intensifies as the beer warms up) - the spice hints are primarily cinnamon with lighter notes of nutmeg and allspice.
T: This beer has a taste to similar to the smell with the primary flavors being those of pumpkin and pumpkin spices - possibly a little too much of the spice. The spice flavors are cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, coriander, and very light ginger. Light amounts of lingering bitterness.
M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: The best aspect of this beer is that while you have the flavors and pumpkin and traditional pumpkin pie spices but not added sweetness. This is a decent pumpkin beer and has none of the artificial flavors that you often get in this style.

Pumple Drumkin pour a really clear amber with a decent foamy offwhite head that pretty much disappears entirely leaving next to no lacing on the glass at all.
The aroma has nice pumpkin pie spicing with a solid cooked pumpkin background backing up a clean malt scent.
The flavor for me is pretty much the standard pumpkin ale, seeming a bit over-spiced in the clove and coriander department. There is ample cooked pumpkin which is always a plus, nicely balanced with a clean moderatly sweet malt. The finish is lightly sour, and dries up quite a bit from hop bitterness and the pumpkin pie spicing. Warming does wonders for this beer, rounding out the rough edges of the spicing and bringing, nearly eliminating any sourness and bringing an even better balance between pumpkin and the malts.
The mouthfeel is medium, slick but lacking much creaminess from the sharp carbonation.
Overall this is an above average pumpkin ale, my wife says this is a pumpkin she could actually drink and she does not like pumpkin ales at all. Wasn't quite up my alley so draw your own conclusions there.

A- Pours a beautiful orange hue with a fluffy 1.5" head that leaves good lacing
S- Lots of pumpkin which I like. A little bit of spice in the nose and just a touch of booze
T- Spices come through a lot more in the taste. Not much pumpkin but its a decently balanced spiced beer
M- Little too carbonated for my liking. I like my pumpkin beers smoother
O- Started out promising and ended up just decent. Glad I tried it but much better options out there

12 oz. bottle.
Medium copper body. Clear and clean. Small, gauzy, eggshell white head. Not much lacing. Nose of caramel malts, pumpkin pie, citrus-leaning fruit, and a mishmash of spices (cinnamon, clove, maybe allspice, orange zest).
Toasted malts up front. Singed caramel and pulpy gourd maltiness fills in. Again, as in the nose, there is a zesty citrus element livening up the palate. Peppery, floral, herbal hop bitterness in the latter half as well. Requisite pumpkin beer spices show up too, but they are not too brash and fit in nicely. Medium body with a lively feel. One of the better pumpkin beers so far this season.

a - poured a one finger thick, creamy eggshell-colored head into a tulip glass that left a thin ring throughout. the body was a bright amber color.
s - a hint of cinnamon and spice but it was very understated. pumpkin comes through very well.
t - very much the same as the aroma.
m - crisp and medium.
o - this is what a pumpkin beer should be. i'm not a fan of ones that dominate with spices and don't let pumpkin flavor and aroma come through. this is very balanced and drinkable.

A - Poured with one finger of off-white foam on top of a clear, copper-brown body. The head settles rapidly and leaves only light traces of lace.
S - Lightly vegetal notes of squash with some cinnamon and nutmeg.
T - Brown, toasty malt up front. Some dry caramel and herbal notes in the middle with a finish of burnt toast and phenolic, but nondescript, spices.
M - Medium body, moderate carbonation, and a bone dry finish.
D - Yikes, the aroma is about what one would expect, but the flavor profile is really bland and the extra dry finish doesn't help things. Very little identifiable spice character, though there is some hotdog water like character in the background. I'm really unimpressed with this...

The last of a group of Pumpkin beers I picked up for last weekend at the Beer dispensary in Apex. The others I didn't review because my internet was down most of the weekend and I still wanted to drink them so this is something of a salvage job.
This starts mighty fine. A layered, translucent light brown hue and a decent head of beige lace is accompanied by an aggressive, juiced up assortment of pumpkin spice notes:cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and of course the pumpkins themselves. Light malt backbone is noticeable just beneath the first layer.
The pumpkin flavors in the first sip seem muted and garbled. The malt is the strongest and most consistent taste coming off the blocks. I'm going to let it warm for a few minutes and see if that improves matters. The quick break also seems to embolden the hop flavors, which control the finish and aftertaste. Mouthfeel could use a little more stiffness. Not a bad little pumpkin, but a little disappointing after the great first impression.

Rusty amber color with a dense, dimpled head. According to the label the original recipe was brewed by a Pumple named Drumkin. Good Pumple-y rention.
Leafy, wet earth aroma. Very mild pie spice.
Subtle pumpkin spice with more wet earthiness. I like the earthiness of this beer. I feel that a beer brewed with vegetables from the ground should taste a little dirty.
Pumpkin ales walk a fine line between too spicy and not spicy enough. This is the latter.

My wife and I had a blind pumpkin ale tasting and ranked this one #7 out of the 7 that we tried.
Served in a Port City tasting glass.
A: Crystal clear, yet still opaque orange with a pretty substantial head.
S: Elmer's glue. Need I say more?
T: Really no pumpkin taste whatsoever. Seriously, I've taste Octoberfests with more pumpkin flavor than this. Still, I got lots of yeast and water.
M: Thin and watery. This is one of the more "beery" pumpkin ales I've tasted. No lacing.
O: I will not be drinking this again.
