The beer may be good but the service is horrible. Rude, unaccommodating. I've been to many brew pubs across the country and I've never seen a place quite like this. Maybe that's the experience they are trying for because I wasn't the only one with similar experiences. Other beer loving friends and family went there and came away seriously disappointed. It starts with the bouncer and continues on with the wait staff and bartenders.

This is a total hipster joint. Apparently they don't hire anyone who isn't socially awkward with a 6 inch beard and tight jeans-shorts . We just stopped in for a bite to eat and to pick up some beer; no tour.
Atmosphere: Dimly lit places blaring metal music don't bother me much but my girlfriend couldn't wait to get out of there. It was also kind of cramped. There is no merchandise shop to browse. It is just a girl standing at a desk and you tell her what you want. Lame.
Quality: The beers out of their taps didn't taste great to me. I was expecting a distinct freshness, considering I was getting it from the source, that just wasn't there. The glasses were clean, so thumbs up there.
Service: As I said the guy was a bit awkward. He was not informative about the beer and he made me feel like an idiot for asking about the place; as if the fact that it was my first time there was so uncool.
Selection: Selection at the bar was great. They even had a bunch of nice bottles from other places. However, the selection of beers to take home was terrible. There was only 5 different beers you get in 6 packs and 4 of them were pale ale or lighter. I understand it's getting to be summer but come on.
Food: Food was amazing. Brisket tacos! Oh My God the BRISKET TACOS!
Value: I think we dropped $60 on three appetizers and two rounds for 3 people, so pretty good.

Went there on a trip to Chicago, and had high hopes for a great time. Herd a lot about there beers, and how good they were. Well the beer was great, the time spent there sucked. Bad service, waited a hour and a half for our pizza that we never got. We were the 5th, and 6th people in the pub, and everbody else got there food, ate, and left. Two people behind us came in 1hr after we ordered, and they got there food before us. Wait staff seemed to be bothered by having to wait on people. Last time I checked, that was there job, silly me. They all stayed huddled together by the bathrooms trying not to have to interact with the customers. Hey if this is what the vibe there is all about, I get it, but I've never been to a brew pub with this kind of attitude, and I've been to a lot of brew pubs. Big, and small alike, ones that sell more beer than FFF, and came away feeling good about the time there. Not this place. Went to 6 in Chicago over the weekend, and had a great time at each, so it's not just me. Once again, great beer, but will never go back, and will tell people about our time there.

This place did not look like much from the outside, and I was disappointed with the inside. This place was a little underwhelming. They were showing some karate movie over one whole wall. Unless you like to watch people coughing up blood and being killed while you eat, it was pretty annoying. The service is fairly bad. They acted as if you you were very privileged to even come near the place. They had nothing dark on tap. Their tour was a yawner. That said, their beer was pretty good. Only go if you are looking for a specific, hard to get beer.

Was up in Munster for DLD weekend. Spent some time there before DLD as well as experiencing DLD itself. The beer I had was OK, but a bit over-rated. The night I came in to the brewpub, I felt like I was 25 years older than anyone else including the staff (and I'm still younger than 50). The place has plenty of atmosphere -- just not the kind I'm looking for as middle aged man with a family. And if the way the management runs DLD is any indication as to how they run their business, it's not worth it to be a customer. They have equal if not better beers a few miles down I-80 at Flossmoor Station while the service, atmosphere and food is much better there. I won't be returning back to Munster anytime too soon.

The beer is great, that's why we went there. HOWEVER, we have never encountered a less
welcoming rude staff. Aggressive is the attitude. More than half the reason people enjoy an experience is friendly staff or don't enjoy due to the opposite. Go wait outside was the curt response from the doorman to wait for a table. Then we were eventually seated at a table underneath a speaker that was blasting out skinhead death metal. Obviously the staff enjoyed this music, not sure anyone else did. That's the problem, this place seems to be all about the staff. The server enjoyed saying NO. No rye bread instead of white for the sausage platter. No lemon. No split checks (unless your a regular as it was done for others). No water (try getting the attention of the non-smiling server). No plates, finally got some when the servers got done chatting. Totally unenjoyable experience, as the last thing on the staffs mind is ensuring customers enjoy themselves. We're not sensitive people either. Great beer, rotten aggressive atmosphere. What a disappointment and it ruined our afternoon.

We entered the black hole that is 3 Floyds brewpub and we walked past a nice-looking bar, a couple of couches, and very large day-glo signs for the various 3-Floyds beers (the only real decor to speak of), to a table by a large window looking into the packaging section of the brewery. Scenic. Also I should mention the place smelled kinda funky. I've worked in a brewery, and they weren't really brewery smells. The music was a reasonable volume, when I was paying attention I heard Blondie, and that new band that sounds like Blondie.
I was disappointed to learn that 3 Floyds does not do samplers. This is especially frustrating because FFF's beers are almost all overproof for the style. I was told my initial beer choice was "having problems", so I started with a Rabbid Rabbit Saison (8%) and was prettymuch done for. Choose wisely, and for God's sake bring a designated driver.
The beer was awesome. Unfortunately, thats about all that was awesome on this much-anticipated Sunday afternoon. We had been seated in the restaurant over an hour and a half (not an exaggeration I fear) before our food finally arrived. We were one of two tables in the pub. Despite generous portions I'm afraid it was not worth the wait, or the price.
I was very excited to finally make it to FFF's but overall, I was disappointed in this experience. These guys make amazing beer, much of which you can only get at this brewpub, and I'd say its worth the pilgrimage to fill growlers (but not on Sunday) or try new seasonals, but I will never eat here again.

Okay, I know right off the bat my review is going to be an outlier, but it is no less accurate.
The brewpub was clearly a second thought. The brewpub itself is a little sparse, consisting of little more than wooden tables, chairs, and what appears to be couches stolen from a dorm room. Concrete floors, beer paraphanalia on the walls. Not much in the way of atmosphere, but considering the location in a commercial business park in America's armpit of Munster, IN, I guess it goes with the territory.
The menu is pub grub: pizza and sandwiches and what not, though it is good pub grub. Had the chili and it was excellent. Followed it up with a schnitzel sandwich which was quite tasty. Everything fresh, too.
Prices are pretty high for the area and I agree with one of the previous commenters. You can buy the beer for cheaper in Chicago. Plus they won't even refill their own growlers forcing you to purchase a new growler every time, which is downright ridiculous.
However, where 3Floyds really fails is in their staff. Our waitress knew next to nothing about beer. Really, all she knew was what I could read off of the menu. Actually I think she was tought to memorize the menu, because she didn't know a damn thing about beer and seemed to not want to know anything either. On top of her lack of beer knowledge, one of the female servers (not bartenders) lied to my face. (I won't get into details here)
Why 3Floyds would go through the trouble of making (arguably) some of the best beer in the country, complimenting it with better than average bar food, and then letting their waitstaff shit on all of their hardwork is beyond me.

This was my first venture to the FFF brewpub outside of DLD. DLD was a chaotic mess and made the organizers seem well unorganized. I was hoping a normal visit might show this to be event specific. I was wrong.
We were told there was a 30 min wait which fine because it was a Friday evening and the only place you can get Zombie Dust.
Multiple people including groups of young girls who clearly arrived after us then proceeded to get called in before our group of two. We finally got seated an hour later (before another couple who had been there before us no less) at the bar.
The atmosphere was ok, but kind of cramped. Good music was playing, but nothing really stood out.
The bartender seemed pretty knowledgable and was fairly attentive, but the damage to the service rating had long been done. Food was mediocre and expensive. We split a pizza that has about 1 ball of sausage per slice. Barely any toppings at all.
Really FFF makes great beer. I have yet to find any other redeeming quality besides this. Go get a growler for the road and grab bottles from one of the numerous well stocked liquor stores close by and avoid the pub.

Remember that girl from high school? Prom queen, captain of the cheerleading team? She was incredibly hot. The problem was, she knew she was incredibly hot, and acted like a stuck-up bitch to pretty much everyone. Of course, all the boys kept coming around nonetheless, because she had the goods, bitch or not.
Remember when you used to buy records in record stores? Remember the record store clerk? The ridiculously hip kid behind the counter who was cooler than you and listened to much better music, and when you brought your U2 or Springsteen album up to the counter, he'd look at you like you had leprosy because he couldn't believe that he was selling such mainstream music to a sad sack like yourself? The look in his eyes when he handed you your bag said "Get this crap out of my store and don't come back until you've developed some taste."
Now let's say that the prom queen and the record store clerk got together and had a bunch of kids. Those kids are now all grown up, and they all work at the brewpub at Three Floyds. They have some of the best beer in the country and they know it and are consequently quite full of themselves. And if you show up and behave yourself and don't ask too many stupid questions, they just might be convinced to stoop and share that beer with you, you little lame-o. But only if they're in the mood. You better be grateful the popular kids let you hang out with them sometimes.
