Notes:
An American Wheat Ale, Gumballhead is named in honor of the underground comic book cat created by Rob Syers. Initially a seasonal summer beer, now brewed year round due to demand. This beer helped redefine American Wheat Beers. Brewed with Amarillo Hops and a generous portion of American red wheat, Gumballhead has a complex hop aroma with notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, marmalade and peach. These flavors combined with low bitterness make Gumballhead a refreshing American Wheat Beer that doesn’t suck.

12oz brown bottle - No freshness info., however I know it is very fresh - Poured into my FFF's imperial pint glass...
Pours a clear, light golden amber with two fingers of soft white, creamy head that leaves some nice lacing behind...
Wheaty, breads and grain with a nice citrus hop twist. Aroma is light but inviting. Very good balance of bready malt and the grape-like fruity FFF's hops that are found in pretty much all their beers...
Light and sweet. Wheat and bready malt with some lemon zest in the middle. Hops add a nice citrus twist and make the finish mildly bitter...
Light bodied with decent carbonation. Drinks very easily, slightly creamy. Finishes with some nice refreshing citrus zest and just a touch of bitterness...
Put this next to an IPA and it will fall flat, but on its own, or compared to other pale wheat ales, Gumballhead really excels. Ridiculously easy to drink and refreshing, very simple beer that is a great standby to have around...

Finally able to review the highly anticipated Gumballhead
A- One of the most inticing looking wheat beers i have ever seen. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Pours a hazy light copper/dark straw with a massive amounts of carbonation bubbles. Thick white head of 2 fingers that gives a great effort to stick around. Lacing holds like a beast.
S- Citrus hops- Tons of lemon, along with orange, grapefruit, with a touch of peach. Sweet wheat malts. Slight esters
T- Hop forward and smooth. Fantastic balance, as I wrongly anticipated more hops based on what i have heard and other reviews I've read. Huge lemon zest and citrus flavors lead the way before the wheat malt mellows things out. Hardly any bitterness despite the hop pressence. Love the complexity.
M- Mid body. Smooth, as I mentioned. High carbonation leads to a crips bite. So refreshing as i mow the lawn. Dries the mouth as I continue to drink
O- Different from any wheat beer I have had. My first from FFF, and certainly not the last. Not the huge hop bomb that i have seen writting about it. I feel it is more balance than that. Probably my 2nd favorite beer of this style behind Lil Sumpin Sumpin
No bottled on date that i could find.
