Notes:
An American Wheat Ale, Gumballhead is named in honor of the underground comic book cat created by Rob Syers. Initially a seasonal summer beer, now brewed year round due to demand. This beer helped redefine American Wheat Beers. Brewed with Amarillo Hops and a generous portion of American red wheat, Gumballhead has a complex hop aroma with notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, marmalade and peach. These flavors combined with low bitterness make Gumballhead a refreshing American Wheat Beer that doesn’t suck.

2012 12oz bottle
Thanks to a great trader, bauermj, for an extra.
A: gorgeous golden body, almost like a big ipa but without any typical caramel character. Very light white half-finger head which disappears with almost no lacing.
S and T: this is an ideal session beer, the complexities are not overstated but every sip leaves you with a different impression. Really cool application of amarillo hops. Slight bitterness but big taste with citrussy notes that come from elsewhere. The hops must've been FWH, because they are all taste and tiny aroma. Not too dry and not a sweet fluffy wheat beer.
M: perfect, more carbonation appears from each sip than the original pour.
O: i want more of this and would pay twice the listed price for a sixer.

12 oz bottle poured into tulip.
A- Slightly hazy glowing golden with a small white head.
S- The Amarillo hops are the first thing that hits the nose. Slight bready wheat towards present as well as orange. It's not as in your face as a white IPA so I think it is true to style.
T- Hops are on the forefront follows the nose in that it's not a punch to the palate but more subtle, dry, dank hop. The finish is just a slight touch of red wheat with a little yeast and bread. It's a very well balanced and a slight dry finish.
M- Light to medium mouthfeel with low carbonation makes this extremely drinkable almost dangerously so. Not too sweet or bitter with hops and the wheat really is a nice touch to round it out.
O- I think this ale along with everything I have tried from FFF truly lives up to its reputation. There's just a comfortable dankness to their ales and this one is no different. I will definitely be drinking this when the temperature is getting up there this summer. Cheers.

A: Slightly hazy golden yellow color. Bright white head.
S: A blast of citrus hops, pineapple and peach. Sweet wheat/breadiness. Not much going on here but what little there is is very nice.
T: Doesn't taste as hoppy as it smells. Citrus (orange/grapefruit) and some sweetness from the wheat. Big bite of citrus without being too bitter at the end.
M: Light bodied with medium carbonation.
O: Very nice, light beer. Perfect summer beer in my opinion. Crisp and refreshing, I could see this being a great gateway beer for non-craft drinkers.
