Style | ABV
English Porter |  6.40% ABV

Availability: Limited (brewed once). on-tap (12)

Notes:
On October 17, 1814 in Giles Parish, London, a 22 ft tall wooden porter tank ruptured, causing surrounding vessels to burst, releasing an estimated 323 gallons of house- destroying porter tidal wave. Porters were the overwhelming ale of choice for the London working class. Mushy P pays homage to this English brewing tradition with complex roastiness and robust flavor.

On tap at Three Floyds:

AP: Deep brown, almost black with some lightness ont he edges. Creamy dark tan head.

AR: Roasted sweet malts, chocolate and coffee.

TS: Smooth and robust with heavy chocolate and coffee undertones.

MF: Chewy and heavy, smooth.

OV: What a great offering. Really a delicious porter, more of a robust style than English style porter. A heavier Edmund Fitzgerald perhaps.

On draught at the brewery, served in a pint glass.

Black body, translucent dark reds at the edges. Dense tan head, great lacing and moderate retention. Cocoa and a bit of roast on the nose, some coffee and cream type character. English yeast qualities shine through, with some good hopping. Creamy and roasty flavour, sweet chocolate notes and cocoa powder. More roast and hops in the finish. Medium full feel, smooth velvety mouthfeel. A really nice English porter, as drinkable as they come.

On-tap at Maria's Packaged Goods, poured into a tulip glass.

A- Pours black with a thick tan head, good retention and lacing.

S- Nice aroma of roasted malt, coffee, caramel, milk chocolate.

T- Roasted malts are very prominent, has a bit of char and smoke, also chocolate and coffee, the dominant char is held up pretty nicely by some piney hops. Has a roasted bitter finish.

M- Medium to full bodied, great carbonation, has a smooth and creamy feel with a bone dry finish.

O- A really great porter, if this were available more regularly I would get it all the time.
