An incredibly sexy and talented beer. This prodigy ale is our Moloko milk stout aged in a Portuguese port barrel for one year
with tart and sweet cherries. Do yourself a favor.

I wasn't sure about this one going into it. I love Moloko But I normally don't like cherry flavored things cause they tend to taste like cough syrup. Upon ordering I thought it looked nice maybe a bit thinner then the normal Moloko. The smell was a bit high on the boozy side and made me again concerned about the flavor. But, after tasting this I don't think I've ever had a beer balance cherry better. A slight blast of tartness up front into a sweet cherry flavor that fades to a nice coffee flavor for the finish. I'm sad that I probably will never have this again but glad I gave it a chance.

Tried this at the FFF brewpub on December 17th. Full 10 oz. pour into a short tulip/chalice type glass.

Appearance: Rich brown and thick looking. Very little head.

Aroma: Port comes through, but the tartness of the cherries is there as well. The Moloko sweetness brightens the nose.

Taste: Rich and complex. A lot of varying flavors play against each other: wine tannins, cherry juice, cherry tartness, milk chocolate, creamy coffee bitterness

Mouthfeel/Drinkability: Easy to drink, but one to savor. All the flavors are pretty amazing to ponder. Body is heavy, but that makes this one much more succulent and it needs it.

Overall: A marvel of a beer that I'm glad I had a chance to try at the brewpub. I like the base beer of this one a lot and think the cherry and port treatment is inspired.

A: black and so pretty. Very little head when it got to my table.

S: immediate sweet port overtones. Soft but undeniable. This is a tantalizing brew! The year in the Portuguese Port barrels on sweet and tart cherries was transformative.

T: there was a significant difference between Ronaldo's base beer, Moloko, between 2010 and 2011. I say this having had both back to back weeks earlier at a local Bar Takeover that FFF conducted. 10 was much more tangy and sour for a milk stout-albeit not in a bad way. Ronaldo had this tangy character, but has picked up the unmistakable flavors of the barrel and it's contents. Raisin, cherry, sweet wine, to the point that it hardly had any bitterness.

The mouth feel was smooth and rich. Not a heavy carbonation.

Overall, a great sipping beer, and yet another reason I feel lucky to live within an hour of the FFF Brewpub.

On-tap at Strong Ale 2011

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. There is a nice balance of tart cherries, stout, and barrel. Mild port notes from the wood as well as lots of fruit. A strong cherry skin flavor as well as some file fruit notes. The base stout is still there. Some oak and vanilla in the background. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap at Strong Ale 2011.

A: Black with a dark tan head.

S: Lactic sourness with dark cherries and a subtle tartness. Chocolate is light. Port is strong and there's a lot of plum and grape. Very light roast with vanilla and cocoa.

T: Lightly sour with a pervasive lactic presence. Dark fruits are pronounced: plum, dark cherry, and grape. Chocolate blends with oak. Sourness waxes in the tart dark fruit finish.

M: Full in body with upper medium carbonation.

Overall: A pretty good sour stout. The dark fruit profile is nice.

I saw this on draft at the FFF brew-pub and had to try it as it is not the typical offering from Three Floyds.

The beer is very dark with little to no head. Slight lacing on the glass, but not much.

The nose is very strong on this beer. Tons of dark fruit with subtle hints of oak and alcohol. Almost hard to believe that this started out as Moloko, because it almost smells like a belgian quad. Very interesting.

The taste is cherry/dark fruit forward. Some vanilla and a hint of coffee at the end. The alcohol comes through in the taste, but does not overpower or offend the palate. Not much carbonation. Easy to drink. Definitly not your usual FFF offering, but a nice beer.

Very satisfied with this beer, however I don't know if I would choose it over Alpha King or Zombie Dust any time soon. I do love me some FFF though. Thanks again, guys.

A - comes out dark, almost black with barely any head, just a smidgen on the side

S - smells of chocolate malt, smoke and a light tartness that adds a twist from your normal milk stout

T - at first it's a normal milk stout with light, caramel sweetness before the cheery and port flavors come through; the finish is dry with a light wood finish. Really adds a unique twist to the beer. It does it nicely and balanced

Mf - at first a bit syrupy before a light carbonation that come in with the tart flavors and helps the tart linger on the tongue.

D - despite the high alcohol, surprising easy to drink and don't even notice it. Very balanced and easy to drink and wish this was around more often
