12oz bottle into Wellington glass. Pours a slightly hazy hay color with a tinge of orange/red... reminds me of an apricot. Two finger off-white head with

Nose: Honey, corn, cantaloupe, vegetal hoppiness.

Taste: Hop bitterness right up front. Slightly vegetal, a nip of aspirin bitterness in there. Light pils malt/adjunct tasting body with nothing that stands out too much. Bitterness continues through the finish, which is pretty dry.

Overall this is a decent beer, but I don't love it. There's nothing spectacular about it and the flavors aren't that well-rounded. The cleanness and crispness that could be present in the body are muddled by vegetal tasting hops that provide more than bitterness. Would drink again, but won't seek out.

Average smell for a dortmunder/pilsener/lager...european yeast, decent smell. The look in this is above average, nice golden color with nice head and decent lacing. The first couple I have had of this were a little off...by the time I got through the six pack in day three I has to review..it had changed, for the better! The taste on this was much better than the smell for sure...one hg ny favorite dorts for sure..at first I regretted my purchase, but after a few I was hooked. I live nearly three hours from the brewery but would drive back up for this for sure..nice job changing up the pace Three Floyds...one of my favorite lagers.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a straw yellow with a 2 finger white head that shrinks to cover the top. Minimal lacing. Aroma is bready, slightly grassy, and earthy. Taste is more bread, earth, and a grassy bitterness with mild citrus in the back. Caramel and toffee are somewhat present. Thin mouthfeel with a lingering flavor. Good pils.

12 oz bottle from kodymupa, it was poured into my petite Duvel tulip.

Three Floyds Jinx Proof pours a hazy light orange, with almost three fingers of cream colored foam. There's a little bit of head retention, with not much lacing left to speak of. The nose has lots of bready malts, and a fair bit of minerals and herbal hops. The flavor largely follows that blueprint. The cracker and bread maltiness that leads off is a bit more crisp than in the aroma. The bitterness that rolls in mid palate is pleasantly mild, with just enough snap to briefly grab my attention. The finish is largely herbal, with just a little bit of a mineral edge. The beer manages to avoid harsh grassy flavors that I sometimes get from German style lagers with a noticeable hop presence. The body has a nice firmness to it, but the carbonation essentially dies off by the middle of each sip, rendering the beer a bit dull. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Jinx Proof, as it comes from a style of beers I'm not typically fond of.

On draft at the Girl and the Goat in Chicago, IL. Poured into a pilsner glass.

A: Cloudy,l dark golden color. I got about a half finger bright white head by the time the waitress got it to the table.

S: Smells like Euro noble hops and maltiness. I get some sweet grains and "some" of that normal heavy handed FFFs hop additions.

T: This tastes like a well made pilsner brew. Crisp and refreshing and sessionable. Grassy Czech hops and mild malt. This would be a perfect BBQ beer for summer drinking events.

M: Light bodied, easy drinking. No bitterness.

O: Very well done for the style.

A- Pours crystal clear golden orange with a half finger of quickly dissipating head. Good visible carbonation.
S- Smells very grainy and smells like lager yeast. Some light fruity esters. Not a lot to it but quite pleasant.
T- Taste is also very grainy and light but still fairly complex. Tastes like a Dortmunder with a traditional three floyds american hoppy flair. Not a strong flavor but well balanced in all aspects and has great drinkability.
M- This beer has a great all around feel, moderate bitterness, low ABV, good carbonation and a refreshing taste, A session-able brew that I could down a lot of easy. Likely bottle conditioned.
O- This is a good refreshing brew with a light taste and feel to go good with any occasion and is drinkable by just about anybody.

A - Pours a hazy golden-yellow color with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down at a fairly slow pace leaving behind some good lace.

S - Aroma is a mix of citrus hop and lemon peel with some pilsner malt. There is some pine, lager esters, and a bit of biscuit and grain.

T - Starts off with some pilsner and buttery malt with some grassy hop and mild bitterness. Through the middle some floral hop with some lager yeast comes through with some grain. The finish is a mix of pilsner malt, grain, biscuity malt, with some earthy and floral hop.

M - Medium bodied with moderate-plus carbonation. Feels smooth with a clean and lightly lager yeasty finish.

D - Very drinkable. Very nice example of a Dortmunder with some nice noble hops. Really smooth and very sessionable.

Pours a cloudy gold with a finger and a half of head which quickly dissipates into a thin ring which persists throughout. Smell is of light, sweet malts with a little bit of spicy breadiness and a touch of pear, almost like a wheat beer. There is a large hop bitterness not evident in the nose, pushing the malt profile to the back of the palate. With no hop on the nose, I find the bitterness more detrimental than anything to my enjoyment of the beer. This is a bit more aggressively hoppy than I like my lagers, which seems to be par for the course from FFF.

Our Three Floyds Brewpub Experience continues with this offering. It pours a lightly hazy straw topped by a finger of white micro-foam. The nose comprises wheat, light rice (I know, I know, how much lighter can rice get, right?), and some very light bits of lemon zest and coriander. The taste holds notes of wheat, flowers, and light greens. The hop character is decidedly subdued. The body is a sturdy light, with a light moderate carbonation and a crisp, dry finish. Overall, a solid Dort, though nothin' entirely special.

Great head and great foam that last for all twelve ounces. Copper and pale pilsner yellow mixed to almost perfection. Love the bubbling.

Light toasted malt with pilsnery malt and lots of earthy and citrusy hops. Like a bitter American verion of a classic Dortmunder lager.

Hoppy citric goodness with toasty biscuits, bread crust. Fluffy and resiny palate. Hard to belive its a lager. But tastes and feels pretty good.

Pours a golden yellow with very little cloudyness. Head is slightly off white and lingers.

Smell is slightly malty.

Taste is fairly clean with the malt sweeness and a typical dortmunder finish.

A solid beer that fits the style well.

A - cloudy orange in color, 1/2" head which quickly turned into just a foamy outside rim

S - very citrusy, smells of wheat(?).. definitely not the lager smell i'm used to, let's hope the taste is as good!

T - very refreshing, citrusy, slight malts, slight bitterness.. not much there taste wise aside from the citrus, which makes this good for me since i'm not a huge fan of lagers

M - very crisp, sweet, tangy, refreshing. goes down very easy.

O - a very easy to drink beer, perfect for anytime. not much taste to it that makes this a "lager" but i think i like it better this way.

Smell - Great smell on this beer, very aromatic. Kind of funky/skunky smelling but that's FFF for you, they love their hops.

Taste is pretty smooth, you notice the hops but they are not to strong in this one. I get a faint sweet taste as the beer finishes.

Overall a very pleasant beer to drink. You could drink this beer all day long and not get tired of it.

Thanks to Thorpe429 for providing this in a recent trade.
Always a treat to try some Three Floyds product.

Had a 2 finger fizzy tight head that stayed for a short while and fell to a thin foam. The beer is a ever so slightly hazy straw/pale gold color. Decent sticky lace.

A grape like pale malt aroma. Some nice rounded hop aroma. A slight sweetness here.

Bitterness is more aggressive than anticipated and I like it. Initial bitterness gives way to a nice pale malt, lightly bready flavor. Middle sweetness for a moment and then a big bitterness in the finish.

Almost a creamy mouthfeel. Very mild carbonation.

Decent little beer.

S- sweet without much depth

Got this as an extra in a trade

The beer is very transparent with a straw yellow colored with a thick white head the laces well. The coronation is visible it looks like a beer you'd see in documentary.

The nose is subtle german hops slightly spicy and backed with light malts.

The taste matches the nose although the malt is up front sweet the becomes a very subtle hop spicy slightly earthy. The mouth is smooth and sticky at the end.

A solid beer

Not my style of beer. Thus not highly rated. unless you know and likethis style I would spend my money on any other 3 Floyd offering as all others are spectacular! I am a hophead so Zombie/Arctic/Dreadnaught even Gumball or better options for me! Even the A Cow is not bad!

Thanks to erric (both Reddit and BA) for this exiting FFF lager.

Huge 3 finger fluffy head forces me to stop pouring just before its done, fades semi slowly with sticky soapy lacing reinforced with many bubbles rising from the bottom, and aside from the many bubbles its brilliantly clear golden pilsner tan color.

Nose if typical pilsner, light soft earthy grainy straw like malts, tons of lager aromas with crisp malt and light fruits, it also had a light yeasty aroma, and light grassy hops.

Taste starts again with grainy earthy pilsner like malts, light straw and wheat, and a bit yeasty. Then again hops, grassy earthy hops with a light bitterness and hint of orange peel citrus. Juicy malts overall lead to the lager flavors, light fruits and pretty crisp. Finishes a bit more bitter and quite dry, more grassy hops, grainy malts, and soft lager fruits.

Mouth is med to a bit lighter bodied, good carb.

Overall nice, more of a spring beer, nice pilsner like qualities, malts, nice hops and bitterness, light crisp and very drinkable. The best lager from FFF so far.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours a nice straw color with a good head. Smell was nice and clean, sort of a lager scent. Nice hops bitterness, not IPA like overpowering, but noticeable. Good mouthfeel. Overall, very good beer, I would drink a lot of this if it was available easily near me.

Had a mug of this at the FFF Brewpub on 12/17/11. Review from notes.

Looks and acts like a lager in the mug. Lots of fluffy head over a straw golden body. Smells have a pilsner tone for sure: biscuity and buttery malt along with grassy and hay smells from the hops. Spiciness is involved too.

It is very crisp and clean when tasting. The flavors are kept light by an active body. Finishes somewhat dry with an accumulating bitterness from the low-acid hops.

A great lager option that I'd turn to in the Summer if it were available to me year-round.

Great looking tall dense head on a clear light golden body.
The aroma is really biscuit like, although i did eat biscuits and honey for dinner, but that was over an hour ago, so i am fairly certain that it is the beer i am picking up. It smells like a old world noble hopped beer, with an aroma that always personally makes me think of a gravel road though a field in the dry summer, i am on these a lot, and noble hops trigger that connection in my head. Call me odd.
In true Three Floyds fashion, this beer is heavily hopped. Clean and earthy, noble hops abound, and a touch of citrus adds some brightness. Biscuit and grains, a pinch of spice.

I really am getting into this beer, i know it's a week fresh, picked it up delivery day, and it's really tasty. It really hits that noble hop spot when it is itching, and i will be buying packs of this often.

A - golden body with a thin snow white head two fingers deep. recedes to a quarter finger head and stays very well. good lacing as well.

S - biscuits, honey, pepper, sweet malts, earth malts and a herbal/medicinal hop backdrop.

T - biscuits, sweet malts, caramel, pepper, herbal hops which pack a good bite. some medicinal tastes linger.

M - medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation. some good astringency, much more than expected. good dry finish.

O - a very good lager. hop forward but done well.

A: Clean off-golden amber in color. A generous pour yields a 1.25 finger bone white head that actually sticks around a minute or two.

S: A bit of sweet, golden malt.

T: Buttery and crisp. Luckily, it doesn't feature a ton of filler or adjuncts here, rather there's a Kolsch-like earthiness to it. The finish is a touch sweet.

M: For a session lager, this thing feels like a beaut. Top notch carbonation, texture and weight.

O: I really, really dug this beer. This could make for some epic sessioning, it's easy drinking and damn tasty. If you're like me (a closet session lager fanatic), seek this one out, and with haste.

Jinx-proof pours a bright orange color with a thin off white head that quickly disappears. Decent lacing on the side of my snifter glass. Fairly hazy in appearance as well- you can't see through this brew. The nose is grain, sugar, grass, and slight hops. Maybe a little fruit in there as well. Very sweet smelling. The taste follows suit, although a little more balanced. Add biscuits and wheat in addition to the nose. Feel is light, and slighly thin, but decent carbonation and a hoppy aftertaste. Overall, a good lager that deserves a shot. I enjoyed it. Cheers.

Big thanks to Thorpe429 for giving me a bottle of this; thanks Mike! Been a want of mine for a while, since I've gone to Junx Proof in DC a few times and love FFF. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into by Bell's tulip.

a - Pours a hazy orange yellow color with one finger of fluffy white head and moderate carbonation evident. Head lasts for a few minutes and leaves an inch of head throughout drinking. Leaves light lacing on the glass as well.

s - Smells of wheat, grains, bready malts, biscuit malts, light herbal hops,a nd earthy notes. Lots of wheat and grains…decent.

t - Tastes of grains, bready malts, biscuit malts, floral hops, herbal hops, earthy malts, wheat, and light citrus hops. A tiny step up from the nose, and I like the citrus.

m - Light to medium body and low to moderate carbonation. A little thinner in the body than I would have liked, but cirsp and still very easy to drink.

o - Overall a decent lager, though nothinng mind blowing. Very crisp and easy to drink. The nose doesn't have a ton going on other than some grain and biscuit, but the taste is a little better with the fruit/citrus hops. Worth checking out once, but wouldn't break your back seeking it out.
