Notes:
9.5% ABV 99 IBUs - A hophead’s dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavor is both smooth and memorable.

The dreadnaught drill: 22 oz. bomber poured into an Arrogant Bastard pint glass...
A: Vigorous pour leaves me with a slightly cloudy amber-honey colored beer topped by a mountain of frothiness. The head soon settles to about a thin 1/4 inch, and thick sticky lacing coats the glass as i drink.
S: Wonderful bouquet of sweet, pale malts, citrus peel and abundant lupulins.
T: Sweet right up front, and it lingers for a moment. A tidalwave of intense tangerine goodness asserts itself dominately. Very nice. A bit of alcohol in the middle too. Somewhere then about now you get a dose of spicy hops, although it's not very aggressive it completes the experience and marks the finish, which is a long one...
M: Resiny and creamy, with noticeable carbonation and a slight alcohol burn. Very good.
D: I thought i could put this down easily, but it sneaks up on you. Just over halfway through my bomber i'm feeling it (but, i did precede it with a DFH 90 min.) Deceptively strong, and the bittering effect does tend to take over after awhile... probably couldn't realistically goe more than one deep given the size.
Give it a try.

Huge thanks to boilermakerryan for sending this my way!
A - Pouts a golden orange (slightly amber) - fairly clear with a full finger+ of caramel colored head, very dense, smooth looking foam. Lacing is fantastic.
S - Sweet juicy fruits and citrus (mango, apricot, pineapple, peach, lemon) with a somewhat surprisingly sweet caramel malt backbone.
T - So much going on. Consuming at what I estimate to be ~50-55 degrees. Initially tons of juicy tropical fruity flavors (mango, peach) mix with a fairly intense, somewhat astringent bitterness. Very quickly after the citrusy (lemon/pineapple) and slightly spicy flavors kick in. Then the sweet juicy fruits seem to come back a bit and mix with the citrus. A hefty sweet, fairly sugary malty backbone compliment the flavor from beginning to end. The more I drink the more the flavors mix together more at once - which I'm really enjoying.
M - Medium bodied+, appropriately carbonated, somewhat of a sipper, although still quite refreshing.
O - Many strong flavors combine but find a way to balance themselves out extremely well. One every DIPA lover should try for sure.
