Notes:
9.5% ABV 99 IBUs - A hophead’s dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavor is both smooth and memorable.

22oz bottle courtesy of Wadsey. Thanks a bunch.
Poured into a snifter.
A-Vigorous pour led to a thick, substantial slightly off white head with some large bubbles. Not really shy about hanging around either. Head recedes very slowly, leaving islands of foam floating on the deep orange liquid. Lacing clings stubbornly to the sides of the glass.
S-Lots of pungent hop aroma. Lots of citrus - grapefruit and orange - along with some grassy and piny undertones.
M-Hops explode upon the tongue. Follows the nose. Lots of citrusy hops and pine followed by some balancing malt sweetness. I get more orange and grapefruit in there. Finishes with a bitter dose of hops. Not an overly complex brew, but the balance between the hops and malt sweetness is very nearly perfect. Neither really overshadows the other, but both hold their own. I love this.
M-Carbonation is spot on, and creates a very nice texture. Mouthfeel is on the thick side, full bodied, and somewhat sticky.
D-For the ABV, this is dangerously drinkable. I had no problem finishing the bomber. The alcohol is well hidden; really no hotness to speak of. The thick mouthfeel may discourage more than one bomber though.
I will definitely have to acquire more of this in future trades.
