Pours rich copper with a fading head.
Nose shows lots of malt with bready characters and some spicy, toasty rye. Lovely. Also some soft earthy hops.
Very similar flavours, with powerful toasty and spicy rye alongside a spicy, earthy hop hit. Great length.
Nice moderate carbonation.

22 ounce bomber. Decanted into a pint glass.
Appearance: Almost perfectly clear deep amber/copper color. Thin, fleeting head that clings to the side of the glass.
Smell: Extraordinarily faint. Really have to hunt for it. There’s a bit of bready rye in the nose. I also get a bit of mineral water. When I really dig for it, I get a very faint citrus smell. The hops are almost absent in the aroma.
Taste: Very nice. Bready. Dry with a peppery rye finish. Maybe a bit of honey. No bitterness to speak of. Leaves almost no lingering aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Thin. Sharp carbonation.
Overall: Very nice session-able, rye pale. I really want to like it more considering its credentialing, but it seems like someone turned it’s volume down. Muted, I guess. To be fair the label says “Bottled 07.30.12”, so it likely has already passed its prime. I’m going to look for it on draft.

Transparent copper color. Descent head on the pour with weak retention. Some lacing.
Bready malt and pine scent.
Solid rye bread malt character, grainy and spicy. Assertive hop notes of pine and herbs. Very well balanced.
Light to medium bodied with a sharp carbonation. Feel really compliments the flavor profile.
Good brew. Interesting flavors and easy to drink.

650ml bottle purchased from Slowbeer in Melbourne.
Pours a clear, deep golden colour, almost turning a burnished copper, with a full, frothy and pretty persistent head of off-white. Solid lacing and fine carbonation completes the picture. Good stuff.
Nose is pleasantly clean with bright citrussy hops, mangled with a bit of wine cork. Some light spice and earthiness comes through, possibly from the rye, but equally likely from some slightly brusquer hop characters. Hint of booze and some rich bread dough. Overall, it's a nice aroma.
Taste is clean and clear, with a crisp grainy character on the back. Hops provide a fragrant sweetness throughout, but only moderate bitterness, leaving the palate light and buoyant. Some clementine and pithy orange mid-palate, with a very pleasant crispness on the finish. Feel is very smooth and light, providing some basis without overwhelming anything.
Overall, this is a damn drinkable brew. The rye is subtle, but broadens the palate nicely, which is very nice. Often rye can make a beer sharper and spicier, but here it provides additional width of character. Very nice stuff, probably one of the best of Heretic's I've had.

Pours a golden bronze hazy hue with a creamy three finger head and lacing here and there, the smell is quite light with aromas of spicy rye, herbal hops and a touch of passionfruit, the mouthfeel is just over light bodied with high carbonation and has tastes of passionfruit, peaches, spicy rye and finished with a spicy dryness and overall its abit of a let down and is pretty subdued on all levels but nice for a session ale cheers.
