Batch 007
Soft and sweet, it almost makes Raul weep. It’s a weird thing, to dream. And almost more wild, is to have. As I drink this, I am cool. As I drink this, I am collected. And as I drink, I think: let’s be real together.
Oh.

Among the most malt dominant beer styles, the strong Scottish ale oozes grain sweetness, savory flavor and intensity as much as any beer can muster. Beachwood Brewing gets out of their beachy ways and allows the tastebuds to take a trip to the northern British Isles for an ale to charm the sweet tooth.
Dark crimson red and with deep mahogany depths of brown, the tawny beer rises with a dense blanket of foam. Sultry, savory aromas of caramelized sugars bring bold suggestions of nuttiness, toastiness, chocolate, coffee and peat soaked whisky. A mouth coating malt character spreads across the early palate with a saturation of brown sugar, sorghum and molasses.
With the malt sweetness latching tightly onto each and every tastebud, the more savory players of breakfast blend coffee, bittersweet chocolate, charred toast, roasted pecans and hint of campfire swoons with earthen complexity. A smooth transition to any semblance of balance lands the lavish ale to a peppery, peaty, broadly but slimly bitter taste to a whisky spiced late palate.
Full bodied and savory throughout, the beer is on par with the digestive qualities of fine sherry, port and coffee liquor. A full extension of malt sweetness, dark fruit and stone fruit add peps of decorative nuances deep into a long linger of honey sweet whisky and continued earthen charm.

650ml bottle, served in a snifter glass. Dark brown body, half finger offwhite head, not much retention. No lacing. Smells of big toffee, caramel, light earth. Flavour follows, a malt-forward beer as expected, toffee and caramel being the big contributors. Mouthfeel is full, a bit syrupy but not negatively so, minimal earthy bitterness. Overall, a big toffee bomb, but that's no surprise, I would hope.

Damn, this is a tasty beer. Not for hop heads but excellent if u want a flavor trip to days past. I always enjoyed barrel cersion but this was a tasty treat. Lots of flavor going on. Not sure if its true to style but had with 5 friends at Tovarish release and everybody thought it was fantastic. Too drunk for good notes, sorry.
