Market Garden Brewery sits next door to its big brother West Side Market in Cleveland's Ohio City. MGB is a vast space with front and rear bars with tables throughtout, a large outdoor patio and an equally large basement bar and dining room. The place is fairly dark with really cool, locally built lighting throughout. The beer selection is decent with 7-10 house brews on-tap and another dozen or so guest beers available, nothing too rare but good quality stuff. Samplers are available and customers are encouraged to only sample the MGB beers but I have been there and was able to throw a guest beer or 2 on a 6-sampler set. Their beers usually is a mix of a wheat, IPA or two, stout, porter, scotch ale and seasonals. Food is good quality and i think is slightly overpriced. Service is attentive especially if you are sitting at any of the bars. MGB will succeed due to its location and proprietor but I think their menu pricing needs an adjustment. Overall, def a place to stop on the Cleveland beer tour.

This was a pretty cool place. There was lots of seating, three separate bars and an outdoor beer garden. We ate lunch here once and dinner here the other time. Both times the meals were really good. The beers we tried were pretty good, they are supposed to be distilling at some point too.
Overall it is a pretty nice place with a fun atmosphere, excellent food and some pretty good beers. Check it out.

After leaving Bier Markt, I walked across the street too this place. A modern and industrial decor, with two bars and an intense growler filler. Above each bar were signs that looked like they got them from American Pickers. They had 100 of their own beers and 10 guest taps. The bartenders were quite attentive and nice. Looking at the menu, more my speed. I did not eat, but looking at the plates that came out, it looked good. All the beers were nice, and a nice variety. The only two complaints I have is that I did not come here first, and the staff was quite hipster, but I can deal with that.

The Market Garden from the outside doesn't look like much, but inside it is quite different. The MG is located in the West Side Market area of Cleveland. The bar area where I sat had a nice industrial feel with pleanty of bar seating and high tops. The place is mamoth and I hope to come back in the summer to try their outdoor patio. The quality of the food, beer, and service was great. There was plenty of house made beers on tap and pleanty of choices on the food menu as well. The food was decent, better than your average brewery. Overall it was a nice experience....two full samplers, two lunches, and two pints came to $70 bucks. I guess I would like to see MG pay tribute to WWII vets that were part of Market Garden...a high risk operation that failed planned by English General Montgomery....Monte's English IPA....or Arnem Belgium Ale...or Airborne Amber....that would be cool.

Market Garden is a good time. I recommend eating out on the patio. The atmosphere is great with the Westside Market right next door. The service was also very good. I tried their Saison and the Wahoo Whit. Both beers were very good (I left with a growler of the Saison). Price-wise they aren't too bad, but I spent more on the growler than I wanted to spend. The food was great, but they were out of a couple things that I wanted to try.

Visited the MGB during a biz trip to the 'Cleve' on 6-19-13.
I had the 'Cluster Fuggle' IPA to start, with a Citramax IPA next and closed with a ESB that was a collaboration between MGB and Ohio City's legacy brew palace, the Great Lakes Brewing Company. They were all brews so beautiful that they made me want to cry in my beer. Man, they were just about perfect!
For eats, I chose a roasted eggplant sandwich from the menu that was hearty and tasty sustenance. The crew behind the bar were true beerheads who proudly waxed on about their offerings and beer in general. The premises are ideally executed and a gorgeous space and I took a tour of the their grand brewroom, where all the magic elixirs originate. They've got an app pending for a distillery that will result in a further expansion and there's talk of bottling and canning, too.
Cleveland's fortunate to have an establishment of this caliber. Long may they prosper.

Very nice place. Sat outside in the patio and received prompt service with a group of 8. Didn't push ordering food. Beer selection was nice. Done rare bottles along side their house selection. I would recommend the patio during the summer. We sampled the house wit and then a GLBC Deuchutes collaberation.

Great brewery/restaurant right next to the larger Great Lakes Brewery practically next door . However, the focus is on Market Garden and their extensive and awesome in-house beer selection. I cant recall all the names, however fall/winter is a great time to enjoy malt-rific brews like malt train, brown ale, scotch ale, porter, and wintery seasonals (even though most of these mentioned are avail year round as well). Overal,l one of my favorite bar/breweries in Cleveland, not just for the brews but an awesome patio, and cool hidden bar down below (when open). Great place to take friends in town, watch a game, or meet clients to for a beer. Highly Recommended
