330ml bottle, a single from a like-minded six-pack.

This beer pours a cloudy medium golden yellow hue, with three fingers of thin, bulbous, foamy white head, which leaves a few prominent buttes of lace around the glass as it quite lazily recedes.

It smells of crisp, semi-sweet wheat malt, toasted biscuit, some clove/black pepper spiciness, a slight candy sugar note, and mild earthy hops. The taste is sharp, grainy wheat malt, an ethereal tart citrus fruit character, sassy white/green/black pepper mill dust, a bit of fading clove/coriander earthiness, and some understated herbal, weedy hop pangs.

The carbonation is rather lively at first, and settles into a dull hum thereafter, the body medium-light in weight, and haltingly smooth, what with the bubbles being what they are. It finishes off-dry the wheatiness trending to the sweet, with the muddled fruit and spice blindly lending a hand.

Not a bad witbier, a tad more astringent than generally preferred, and weirdly drinkable at the same rate - the fruit/spice component feeling kind of dialed in, though. Anyhow, worth a try, if only to commemorate the summer of 2012 that was.

341ml bottle poured into tulip 9/5/12

A hazy golden yellow with enough clarity too see a few bubbles floating up to a short lived two finger foam that ends up as an island of foam that leaves a couple distinct rings of lace

S clove, citrus and some cereal with faint bubblegum

T not far from the smell, not a spicy citrus bomb I think of when drinking a Wit but it works, a little herbal hops works well in a strange way

M a little foamy as soon as it enters your mouth and fairly light bodied for sure, a little wheat and lemon on the finish

O decent beer that's fairly easy too drink, not nailing the style outright but drinkable stuff with a hot sun

perhaps a German got in to a Belgian brew-house because I'm not picking up on many adjuncts I think of when drinking a Wit, that being said it works well enough and went down in no time
