Not date, poured from a 12oz can.
Dark, pour, good-looking weight to the beer. A two finger head of tan foam rise up and bubbles over the brim of the glass. As it settles, tons of lacing patterns are left behind on the inside of the glass.
A pretty even balance of coffee and roasty malts on the nose. Hints of burnt toast round it out. Not a ton going on, just a simple mocha stout with a solid nose.
The flavors here are more of the same, lots of malt has this drinking more like a porter, but good flavors are there. Coffee-forward, with undertones of baker's chocolate. Finishes mildly bitter, with a black coffee flavor left behind.
A little thin, with a medium carbonation that again points this closer to a porter than a stout. Smooth in the finish, stick mouth coating left behind. Overall, great if a porter, okay as a stout. Warms nicely, though.

One if the best stouts I have ever tasted. Marvelous dark brown color with delicious coffee taste and aroma. Truly an exceptional beer. Full bodies and great mouthfeel.

I tried this beer at the brewery. It poured an opaque black with tan head that did not leave any lace. The scent is coffee. The taste is coffee. The Mouthfeel is lighter in body with subtle carbonation. Overall it's ok.

Appearance - The beer was brownish black with a mocha color head.
Smell - The nose brings to mind a freshly opened can of coffee grounds.
Taste - The beer is highlighted by notes of coffee grounds and baker's chocolate. The sense of this beer is very dry. The finish leans far more bitter than sweet.
Mouthfeel -The feel is almost too smooth for an oatmeal stout. It seems more like a milk stout.
Overall - I would have like more sweetnees in this one.

Served in a pint glass at the brewpub. From notes. Reviewed 23 November 2014.

Black. Impenetrable. Mocha-colored head.
Immense coffee in the nose. Intense, super-dry, and rich. Dark chocolate. This is great!
Mmm, tasty but not immensely so. Lamentably thin, with a cold coffee neutral finish. Still worthwhile, especially for coffee lovers. Some lightly sweet malt.
Drinkable (more so than many coffee beers) and tentatively recommended.
