With a caveat that I have only brewed one batch of beer thus far, this valley version of the Culver City classic is perhaps not quite as well equipped, but still offers a wide selection of grains in both whole and extract form. You can mill the former on site for free which is nice.
Hops and yeast are refrigerated, fresh, and well organized. Selection is pretty wide, and they have plenty of print-outs to help you find substitutes if they lack exactly what you are looking for. One wall is full of recipes, the few I've sampled (via a home-brewing buddy) have been excellent.
Service is friendly and helpful without being overbearing or trying to upsell you for no good reason.
Prices of ingredients are decent (particularly their various extracts - bring back the container for a big discount on future purchases btw), though the mark-up on equipment is substantial.
Parking is a bit tight, but they do indeed have their own fenced-in lot out back in the alley.

I've only been to two different homebrew shops, but this one seems to have almost everything I need in terms of ingredients. Organization is good and price seems a bit better than the other shop that I have been to. It's also the local shop for my homebrew club, which is an added bonus. Staff have been helpful when I've requested it, although the one guy can be curt, especially on the phone. Some additional items / supplies would be nicer, but I have not hurt for finding what I need. It's very common to find helpful homebrewers in this shop at the same time, too, as well as newbies seeking assistance. Overall, communication in this place seems great.

I really liked this place. Turns out it's the east side version of the Culver City Home Brewing Supply Co., so if you have any doubts, feel free to check out their reviews here: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/6491
Thomas was really helpful with picking out some of the missing pieces of my brew setup.
My only complaint is the parking. They don't have a proper parking lot, so you have to find street parking or risk getting your car towed from the next door Citibank lot, which I would highly recommend against parking in.
Definitely will be my go-to store for brewing supplies and ingredients.
