An amber hued hazy beer. Aroma was a balance between floral hops and sweet malts. Taste was smooth and refreshing with a mildly hop bite and sweet malts. Not bitter at all and pretty flavorful. A very flavorfull beer on what was probably the hotest day of the year. A missed review from July.

a slightly hazy amber pour (leaning towards orange), 2 fingers bright white head.
smells of piney hops, toasted caramel/honey background.. sweet, floral, almost like a forest.

there's a very subtle bitterness in the taste. dirt, earth, pine, flowers, honey, roasted grains.. kind of complex for an ipa!

light - medium body, very refreshing, crisp yet makes you want more.
an excellent session ale, a very tasty ipa (more leaning towards the english ipa form the complex malt profile) with a very nice floral hop bitterness. a wonderfully balanced ipa to be on the lookout for!

Growler into a mason jar

Pours a burnt orange with a yellow two+ finger head. Good staying power and rings of lace. Hazy.

The aroma is of pine needles, cracked grains, toffee, citrus, and some fresh flowers. Well-balanced, with everything in equal parts.

The flavor profole follows the nose. Spruce/pine needles mix with flowers and citrus before yielding to lightly toasted grains. A mild bitterness swings back through with some spruce/pine in the finish.

Medium body, dry, clean. Pretty straightforward with a good balance.

This is a solid east coast take on the style. Balanced with mild bitterness, high drinkability.

4oz taster pour into CMBC pint glass at their facility.

A: Pours out a dark orange almost amber like color. Half finger of head. Bright white. Nice carbo. Some spotty lacing bits on the glass during the sip.

S: I want more hops. I get some fruit and light pine. Bready malt. Smells balanced.

T: Really mild. Easy coast for sure. Some hop bitterness right away, but basically plain. Lots of balancing malts in the middle. Almost to much. It's a basic IPA for entry level drinkers.

M: light to medium.

Sampled 4oz of this one at the Atlantic City Beer Festival. A little bit went a long way for me.
A: This beer had a very nice cloudiness...always a sign of richness in flavor that is to come.
S: Vice nice hop aroma...would be even nicer in the appropriate glassware (instead of a reusable plastic mug)
T: Very complex hops with just enough spice and sweetness to balance out...could have been a quaffer, but too special not to savor.
M: This beer did have good richness/viscosity...Stylish would be the best word.
Overall, I am now a big fan of this beer. I will actively seek it out in the Northern parts of Jersey and beyond. You should too :)

It wasn't what I expected from an IPA but I was delightfully surprised.

It was amber in color with an appropriate head and good lacing as it went down.

The floral and piney aroma really hits you. (They must dry hop the heck out of this thing)

The flavor was a hop explosion in my mouth but not in that over-the-top 10 million IBUs kind-of style. It was all about the flavor of the hops with low bitterness that allows you to really put these things back.

I would have to say that this is definitely a session-able IPA and very unique. I can't wait to try more!

On tap at Cabanas in Cape May. Reviewed from last nights notes.

A- very dark and cloudy for an IPA. This is really not what I expect in and IPA.

S- good aroma, piney and strong.

T- nice hop bitterness upfront, fades a little toward the finish, but ends as a refreshing malt/hop balance.

M- good texture, not too light, but not too heavy.

O- this IPA is good. I dont know if it is something I would go for all the time as it is a lighter, more muted IPA. That being said, it eorked perfevtly for me eating a crab topped burger while looking out onto the ocean. It really is a great beach/pool IPA. They should really can this stuff.

Cape May Brewing Company's first beer is an IPA by design and flavor but darker than most. It has a nice hop bite up front that isn't overwhelming and blends away into an IPA bitterness with a toasty, caramel finish. The whole taste experience is gentle but impressive with an understated complexity. Overall very nice.
