Poured from a bottle into a pilsner glass. Color was light amber. About an inch of head. Decent amount of lacing on the top. Good looking film on the sides as well.

A surprisingly good smell. Had a mix of chocolate, grains and citrus.

Not much like the nose. Initial taste was grain with a watery aftertaste. Pretty bland overall.

Medium body. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. Somewhat watery.

I’d say the smell is the best part of this beer. I had high hopes after getting a sniff, but the taste was just too plain.

Medium brown, copper amber, good lacing and retention, colour appears a bit dead/muted.

Smell is earthy roast hops, dry citrus edge, some floral malt, with slightly bitter overtones, some coffee.

Taste is initially refreshing malty notes, lingering caramel sweetness, roasted chestnut aftertaste, decent.

Mouthfeel has moderate carbonation, medium body, with pleasant dryness, decently refreshing though a bit warery.

Some faults, it is a decent beer but could definitely improve a fair bit, better ones to try first.

The Double Take Amber is OK...its a bit bitter. The beer poured a very nice Amber with 1/2 finger thick foam that is leaving some lace. The smell is really non-distinct. Maybe some malt. The taste as mentioned above is a bit bitter....some more sweet caramle malt balance is needed. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is ok...decent session beer.

Poured from a standard pressure-cap 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Reviewed live.

A- Finger-thick white head. Medium retention. Caramel colored body with extremely high clarity.

S- Rosy, caramel, and warm malts. Surprisingly nice.

T- Caramel, distinctly soda-like flavors. Kinda weak.

M- Heavily carbonated, but relatively light body. It's alright.

O- Not a good example of the style, nor is it very drinkable.

Okay, I have no idea how this apparently obscure, totally random amber from Rochester ended up in my beer fridge on a vacation to Arizona but here we are. Apparently, "it's a head snapper".

Light brown in color with a finger of creamy head. Basic sweet malt nose but nothing out of the ordinary. Malt also in the taste but also strongly hopped. Unfortunately the whole shebang is torpedoed by an overbaering metallic tinge. Possibly a bad bottle, but being the first to review this, there is little to compare it to. Nothing to travel twenty four hundred miles for.

12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a generic hefeweissbier glass in low altitude Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live.

A: Pours a five finger head of good cream, nice thickness, and pretty good retention. Colour is a dark copper (not an amber, as expected).

Sm: Light indistinct amber hops, caramel, cream, and barley. Maybe some nuts. A mild strength aroma.

T: Caramel, amber hops, too much malt, and bland barley. Built decently, but rather imbalanced (especially in terms of the malt). It's just too simple and bland.

Mf: Smooth and wet, with slight cream on the open. Not really complementary of the flavours of the body. Sharp.

Dr: Drinkable enough, but the sharpness and overdone malt definitely turns me away. It's priced low, but that reflects its quality.

Appearance is light amber golden in color with a thick stable head leaving fair lace. Smell of biscuity malt and light floral hops. Taste follows the aroma with a bitter that doesn't balance with the malt leaving a bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium - light with good carbonation. Not the best amber out there, not one I'd shoot for again.

Poured into a frosty pint glass. Color is a dark yellow, closer to a pilsner than what you'd expect from an amber. Slight head dissipated in less than a minute. Smell is very flat, almost skunky. Very pleasant but ever so slight malt flavor with an average mouthfeel of other domestic beers. Overall assessment: This beer was cleverly disguised and priced in the craft brew section, but should be placed in the domestic section as it tastes much, much closer to a light domestic lager than an amber. It's not a balanced beer that's starving for flavor!
