I got this as a growler fill from Beers of the World in Rochester, NY.
The appearance is nice and perfect to style: pale orange in color and crystal clear. A somewhat rocky white head with a lacing that persisted.
The smell is overwhelmed by yeast. There might be something behind it, but my smell isn't sophisticated enough to pick up on it.
The taste begins with a whallop of yeast, which is tastey, but not to style. There isn't the typical balance of citrus, pepper, yeast, and spice. It does finish dry, and the carbonation is high enough.
The mouthfeel is balanced: sufficient carbonation, medium to light body, no alcohol warmth.
This beer is drinkable and there are no major flaws as far as the brewing process is concerned, but perhaps was overpitched. I would like to get some citrus and pepper in it to add complexity. My concerns are not in taste completely but being within style.
