On-tap at the brewpub.
Pours a dark copper color with a tan head that leaves decent lacing.
Smells of muted caramel malts with good amounts of deep citrus and slight pine and herbal hops. Also present are very slight amounts of medium fruits.
Tastes similar to how it smells, though better integrated. Smooth pale and caramel malts up front are joined quickly by moderate amounts of pine and light herbal hops. Midway through hints of citrus hops come into play, fading out into a moderately bitter ending. Mouthfeel is good, with solid carbonation.
Overall this was one of the least impressive beers I’ve had from here, but even so it’s a decent beer for the style. I’d like to see a heavier hand with the hops given the large malt profile and a cleaner yeast, but even without it’s worth a shot.

Pint served at the WB brewpub.
Cloudy and a bit dark for style, with a good tan head that leaves a moderate amount of lacing. Some sediment in the bottom of the glass before the end.
Mouthfeel, aroma and flavor are ask a bit earthy. Pine, spruce and grapefruit notes. Has a lasting, hoppy finish.
Rather full body for style. Perhaps just my imagination, but there seemed to be enough sediment to affect the mouthfeel. Sticky.
O: a rich and flavorful, West cost style IPA. Not harsh despite the high hop load and an IBU of 80. Recommended for hop heads.

Appearance: Served during this fine afternoon a brunch a hazed, dark amber body with ¼-inch of white foam.
Smell: Aroma thick with citrus pith paired with grassy, steely hops well ahead of the small, skimpy malt notes of toasted grains and caramel.
Taste: Opens with a mild, lightly sweet hint of caramel candy accompanying the toasted malts with an edge of crunchy graininess. Firm citrus pith quality enters along with the rousing pop of bitterness. Gains some resinous grassiness midway, which takes over the taste and pulls you to the quite dry, bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: It's an IPA alright.

Appearance: Arrives with a clear amber color and a petite head that fades quickly leaving not a trace
Smell: Caramel and grapefruit
Taste: Caramel, up front, followed by the grapefruit which dominates from mid-palate through the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with low carbonation
Overall: The malt flavors complement the hops nicely but the lack of carbonation was a disappointment; the other reviews have not noted this issue so I guess I just sampled the beer on a bad day

Comes out of the tap a clear, intense amber with a fine-bubbled persistent pale amber-tan head. Hoppy aroma borders on evergreen and has a strong sweet orange overtone. Strongly hoppy flavor has an evergreen undertone, just a little bitterness, and a note of sweet citrus with a touch of grapefruit. Full-bodied texture has a strong tingle that leaves a persistent fizz behind. Hoppy finish has an undertone of grapefruit and sweet orange. I like how the sweet and sour tones in this beer balance each other nicely, and how the bitter taste remains in the background. A must if you love IPAs!
