This place has been opened for a few years, and I stopped in here after they opened and was disappointed with the beer list and food was so-so at best. I figured it was time for a revisit to check it out again. Located on the northbound side of Route 130, the building is easy to see from the road. There is some outdoor seating here, and inside there are two floors. There was dining and bars on both floors, and the upstairs is sometimes used for private parties. Dark woods at the bar area and tables is muted with some softer colors on the walls.
The bar is rather large and oddly shaped. It can seat about 15 people. There are 18 drafts here, with most focused on the typical macro selections. The interesting ones were La Chouffe, Weyerbacher Hops Infusion, Flying Fish IPA, and Rogue Dead Guy. They did have about 15 bottles of beers from Allagash, Troegs, and Victory.
The place was only partly full, but bartender service was a bit slow but friendly. The food I had was decent but nothing to shout about. The beers were fresh. Overall this was a decent experience, but the Farnsworth House in town has a much better draft list.

There are many 'theme' restaurants that can't help but come across as overdone and hokey. This is not one of them. The atmosphere is as authentic as you could reasonably expect for an Irish Pub in central New Jersey. If you go in for lunch the owners dad, a true off the boat Irishman for sure, greets almost everyone that come in. To me it adds a personal feel to a bar that is competing with big name competition in the area.
The beer selection is ok. What they have on draft is good, but they could have a little more variety. Tuesdays is $3 pint day, so if you want to go in and sample what they do have, that's a good day to affordably do it. Bottle selection is pretty good too. Not great, but good.
Food is actually really good for bar fare. Nothing fancy, and entire menu ranges from $7-$15. Pork sliders for lunch area great value at eight bucks.
Overall this is one of my favorite pubs in central Jersey. While you can exhaust their beer selection in a few trips, it has friendly service, great character, and is a fun place to hang out.

Atmosphere: Designed like a village pub in the countryside of Ireland. Lots of character added by all of the old mugs, advertisements, and various other decorations. Bar area has spaces for around 20 with ample tables for dining guests. The restaurant had a guitarist singing folk songs on a Sunday.
Service: Sat at a table with the wife and baby in the dining area next to the bar. The wait staff was very accommodating of my young one. The were knowledgeable of their beer selections and menu.
Selection: Some interesting things on draft beside the run of the mill Coors/Bud/Miller fare. To suit the Irish theme Guinness, Smithwicks, Kilkenny Cream Ale, and Old Speckled Hen (for the Brits) and some nice locals and national brews like Victory Summer Love and Sam Adams East-West Kolsch. Decent beers of interest in the bottle like Unibroue La Fin Du Monde and Don De Dieu, as well as Seadog Blue Paw Blueberry Ale. The beers that I had were served in their proper glassware
Food: Nicely balanced menu of sandwiches and entrees of tradtional irish fare. I really like the dish I had called Rasher and Cheese Boxty, which was a thin potato pancake topped with Irish Bacon and Cheddar. Overall the entrees ranged from $15-20 with sandwiches going from $10-15.
Well worth a stop in you are in the area. I would love to see this place on St. Patrick's Day or New Year's.
