With respect to whoever added this beer, its not an American IPA despite what the label may say. This is an Imperial IPA. Not only that, but the label clearly says 6.5%, not 6%...
Anyhow, L'Interdite almost pours flat, which was a little disappointing. Almost no head to speak of, and whatever was there disappeared fast. Very nice colour (clear amber) and lacing though, so overall its about average in appearance.
Despite being super-hopped, its smells quite malty. There's a little bread and molasses in there too. Wasn't this beer dry-hopped? Weird.
Yes. 100 IBUs. Malty up-front, insanely hoppy going down. Not much complexity, but its really good. It has some single malt whiskey qualities that give some extra kick.
Again, a little flat, but very dry. Overall, this is a good beer. Quebecers should be proud of this one.

An excellent homage to Dogfish Head and one of the nicest Quebecois APA's I've enjoyed thus far.
Pours a hazy amber with a decent off-white head and lacing; it's a good looking beer. The delightfully hop-forward aroma has a respectable caramelized malt backbone supporting the citrus and tropical fruit tones. Likewise the taste has enough malt body to balance the "american" hop cornucopia. Grapefruit and mango plus a nice pine spiciness to the finish, that lingers...
Fresh, this is an absolutely excellent APA!

Another treat courtesy of joemcgrath27...
A - Pours a hazy copper colour with a brown hue, finger of head with decent retention and some sporadic lacing.
S - Citrus hop notes are subdued by musty caramel malts and hints of
T - Sour citrus rind hop notes accompanied by some musty caramel, sour dough bread, and a surprising citrus bitterness that lingers.
M - Medium bodied, smooth and dry on the finish.
O - A tasty IPA, though heavier on the malts. If you like a more balanced IPA this one fits the bill, though the hop profile could be a bit more vibrant. Easily enjoyable and easily sessioned, and well worth a try.

341ml bottle. I like the Prohibition associations, especially for a Canadian brewery. Also where have I heard the term 'hopped for 90 minutes' before? Where o' where?
This beer pours a clear, medium copper amber hue, with three fingers of fizzy, foamy, and bubbly ecru head, which leaves a nice array of fuzzy cloud ceiling lace around the glass as it steadily sinks out of sight.
It smells of warm caramel, kind of biscuity malt, quite weighty in its bearing, some sour, fruity vinegar notes, and weirdly shrouded citrus and piney hops. The taste is more warm, simmering caramel/toffee maltiness, a sour, expired dark fruitiness, some musty, earthy yeast notes, and stunned leafy, citrusy, and piney hops.
The carbonation is pretty laid back, but not out of it altogether, the body a sturdy medium weight, and a bit too astringent, from stale fruit juice and suppressed hops alike, to be deemed all that smooth. It finishes off-dry, the warming, sour biscuity caramel blend now the norm, after a more than subtle reassessment of expectations, and the bitter hops still pungent, I suppose, but inwardly wondering who usurped all their latent powers.
Hmmm. A rather sideways, and weird IPA, especially one that touts a nicely rounded 100 IBUS. The standout attribute here, ironically, isn't the bitterness, but the tart, sour character that I can't quite come to associate with hops. Maybe those tipped-over barrels got some sort of infection from the dirty feds who did the deed all those years ago. Anyways, drinkable enough, but not the typical hop-bomb you might be anticipating.

Got this at Intermarche St-Roch in Quebec City. Really good grocery store for craft beer in the city. Go there if you're looking for something.
From a bottle into a snifter
APPEARANCE: Pours a one finger, medium-loose, off-white head with good retention. Opaque burnt umber with lower levels of carbonation evident. Head fades to a half wisp. A foamy wisp remains until the end but leaves no real lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Pale malts, melon, some piney hop notes and floral hops. Decent strength.
TASTE: Pale malts and caramel sweetness, and some piney and floral hop bitterness at the swallow. A bolder aftertaste of bitter, floral notes and a small touch of melon sweetness. This is quite bitter, though the flavorisn't quite as complex as hoped. Still enjoyable.
PALATE: Lighter body and higher levels of carbonation. Creamy enough, goes down fine and finishes dry on the palate. Decent at best.
OVERALL: This is clearly a better effort than the stout, but that's not saying much, to be honest. It's almost bitter for the sake of being bitter, and is missing some of the flavor that we usually expect from the style. A bigger palate would help carry the flavor as well. This is a decent beer, but there are plenty of better options in La Belle Province.

A clouded red amber, an off-white head with good lacing and good curtains.
Smelling citric; Lemon, grape-fruit. And Pine.
Slightly sweet, mostly hoppy, grape-fruit juice, peel and seeds.
Medium high carbonation, soft, oily with a good body, a dry finish.
A very hoppy straight AIPA.

341ml bottle poured into tulip 31/3/12 cheers hoser for the bottle
A hazy reddish amber with a large creme colored head that has great retention and leaves several distinct rings of lace before starting to spread random lace, pretty nice looking beer
S quite malty for a 100IBU pallet wrecker, bready caramel with a little vinegar popping up between the citric hops and heavy caramel
T no vinegar's always nice, nice caramel notes and just a little pine, lots of rind on the finish, decent beer but oddly malty
M fairly thick and a little syrupy, its bitter but not taken to the limit I can detect, creamy from the bubbles and it leaves just a little behind for you to savor
O I want to say it was balanced but I almost feel like it was weighted malt heavy for the style, looks great and other then a little acidic vinegar out of nowhere its pretty good
decent stuff but there's room for improvement, I just can't grasp how much malt they would've needed to have such a solid backbone in a hop monster. Interesting stuff, perhaps you should be the judge

Pours copper, thin foam persistant. Aroma: floral hop. Taste hops. Didn't find much more. Long finish. Body light thin, soft carbonation. Long bitter finish. Not an exceptionnal beer, but will be good and refershing in summer on th side of the pool.

Presentation, short Weisen glass
Appearance: very very clear reddish amber, absolutely no hazing (enjoy a bit of haze in the beer), moderate lacing, carbonation is mid- and somewhat appropriate for the style - it could be finer and less harsh
Nose: low-quality dried hops, fruity-honey, malt, lime rind, passion fruit, iced tea, lemony, grassy.
Taste: sweet sappy resinous caramel flavour, iced tea, passionfruit, tea like
Overall: Not bad for a Canadian interpretation of an American IPA; however, not so good as to match an average american IPA; one could even say that it is its own style of an IPA which is special in its own way. Good effort and that is definitely worth some recognition. Very fruity character - almost Hawaiian-Tropical style
