Gusher, huge gusher. The crown was on so tightly that it took a few tries to get it off, the whole time foam shot all over the counter. Fuck this is a mess. It's a nice opaque rusty orange with a solid quilt of fluffy cream and leaves gobby lace. Nose is slightly pithy with orange and must, there's also a spicy character I get in many fresh hop beers. The yeast dominates the nose here overall, however. Flavor is bitter, real bitter for the style. There is some sweetness, some lemon and a little metal. Full bodied with hi carb and a dry finish. Not my favorite from the brewery, but worth the taste.

A - Pours a very cloudy golden-orange with a finger of thick frothy white head. The head fades down at a very slow pace leaving behind some nice lacing.

S - Aroma is a mix of sweet bready and grainy malts, grapefruit, pine, and floral hops, Belgian farmhouse yeast, coriander, other spices, lemon zest, and some funk.

T - Starts off with a mix of grapefruit and citrus hops with some bitterness, sweet grainy malts, lemon zest, and coriander. Through the middle, some tart fruits come through with some floral and pine hops, some more bitterness, Belgian yeast flavors, some funk, and some more spices. The finish is a mix of tart and funky farmhouse yeast flavors, grapefruit, grassy, and lightly spicy hops flavors, sweet bready malts, lemon zest, and some spices.

M - Medium bodied with moderate-plus carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry, funky, and tart finish.

D - Very drinkable. Very complex but very well balanced. The fresh hops really compliment the beer nicely.

Thanks to Sean for sharing this one I think? Served in a Russian River tulip.

A - White foam settles to a thin cap, thick collar, and splotchy lacing. Murky, orange-yellow body.

S - Grassy and floral, with mild citrus flavors; there's a very bright and fresh vibe to these hops that reflects the name of the beer. Peppery Saison yeast and stone fruits malts, a touch of lotion. I'm curious exactly what hop varieties were used, as they seem vaguely continental.

T - The taste is more citrus-heavy, and I'm guessing that's from the hops as I didn't notice it in other the Seizoen variants. Peppery yeast, some milled grains and bready notes, stone fruit sweetness, and no appreciable alcohol.

M - Zesty carbonation, medium body, a bit of warming alcohol after a full glass, and a dry, crisp, clean finish.

D - The base beer is quite solid, so this is unsurprisingly also pretty good. The fresh hopping is present but more complementary than dominant (although this did get released nearly two months ago so who knows how it has changed). I'd drink this again, but I'd rather have the Bretta variants.

A - Cloudy, wheaty hefeweizen-like body. Mixed bubble structure on a big, thick, white head. Excellent lace and retention.

S - Nice classic saison; farm yard, soft malt, lightly sour, pepper corn, plant stems.

T - Nice profile, but not much hop flavor. Soft white bread-like malt, spicy black pepper, cilantro, kiwi.

M - Could use a shade more carbonation. Medium frame.

O - Not a bad saison. Could use a bit more hop character for the "wet hop" billing.

Bottle, shared by bstyle, poured into a HF stem.

Pour: Hazy orange, with a billowing white head. Three fingers. Very sticky, and leaves great lacing.

Smell: Citrus fruits up front, with some lemon zest, and grass. Spicy pepper mingles with a distinct breadyness,

Taste: Woah. Citrus and green hoppiness. Lots of lemon zest, and a clean peppery bite. Bready sweetness is there, but only just. Finishes with a nice floral bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Super drinkable, and very dry. Lighter side on the body, but it’s quite refreshing.

Overall: Amazing beer, and highly underrated. A juicy and refreshing saison, that mingles with the aspects of an IPA. Beautiful.

Another great beer from Logsdon. Pours a yellow-orange color, honey-ish. Big puffy white head. The beer really foamed up on me. Nice lacing. I'd give a higher score, but saisons are generally pretty nice looking. The aroma is a nice variation on the Seizoen. Very nice amount of hops. They blend in and complement the yeast notes without over the beer. The beer has the same excellent mix of funk and Belgian earthiness as present in other Logsdon beers. The hops add a grassy, citric note. It's green and fresh without getting too vegetal. Some peppercorn-ish spiciness. There's a light medicinal note that's a bit stronger in the taste. Otherwise, the beer starts lightly sweet but dries out quickly and develops a enjoyably tart hoppiness. The finish is quite dry with a mildly bitter hop bite. Mouthfeel is mildly effervescent. This is a very pleasant saison with lots of wonderful flavor. Logsdon is one of my favorite new breweries, and this beer does not disappoint.

750ml bottle (FHS612, Best by: 09/2013).
Purchased the bottle at the source -on a 9/29/2012 visit to Logsdon- prior to Hood River Hops Festival.

Allowed to warm 10 minutes out of the fridge, poured to a teardrop goblet.

A: Shining honey-golden hued glassful, topped with a pillowy finger+ of creamy froth. Sheets of breaking lace stick in patches as they fall. Steady carbonation cuts through a fine haziness. Toyed with giving a '5', but I'm very stingy with 'em...

S: Enticing aroma of orange and lemon zest, cut grass, clusters of flowers and a fleeting 'Belgian' spiciness. Fresh hops add a lightly piney fragrance and augment the cirtrusy/grassy notes. Strong at the start, better (and better) with some warming.

T: As "fresh" and as "green' as it should be - subtle Belgian spicing with a leafiness/ grassiness and a good deal of citrus rind zestiness. Backing is vaguely peppery, more traditional. Apple and a familiar pear add floralness and fruitiness. Classic saison goodness here, folks.

M: Effervescent feel at first, then a mellower and modestly starchy evolution. Body is medium, 7.5% ABV seems completely hidden. Drier finish.

O: Terrific beer - as sorta expected, it's the very good 'regular' Seizoen kicked up a notch by the fresh hop addition. Love the greenness and spicing the hops provide - this is one I'm really glad to try as soon as we did to the bottling date; though the bottle says 'Best By 09/2013', I'd never dream of keeping any for a year. Bought two more - they won't last long.

appearance: really nice pour - cloudy straw-orange body, huge fluffy white head, big fluffy retention

smell: really nice - big belgian yeast body, citrus, white pepper

taste: I really like Logsdon beers - the farmhouse brewery scene is something I really enjoy - the fresh hop version brings a nice grassy citrus variation to the seizoen. Citrus peel, lemon, pepper, huge belgian yeast profile.

mouthfeel: fluffy, coating, yeasty

overall: very solid

On tap at O'Brien's Wet Hop fest. 10oz glass.

A: Slightly hazy yellow orange with an inch of rocky, craggy white froth. Retention is great and thick sheets of lacing are left behind.

S: Strong peppery and band-aid phenolics with much lemon and grassiness. Earth blends with a dash of leather. There's a touch of orange in there.

T: Earthy with some leather and coriander. Pervasive lemongrass presence with a firm pepper-like spiciness. Notes of grain blend with a lemony, grassy, earthy finish.

M: Lower medium in body with matching carbonation. Dry and sticky mouthfeel.

Overall: Solid. A bit heavy on the mouthfeel and a little low on the carbonation. I haven't had the regular Seizoen so I have no proper frame of reference, but inferior to the Bretta. You're better off just grabbing a few growlers of Pech 'n Brett and calling it an evening.

A - Pours a pale, hazy light orange with a two inch foamy head with great retention and lots of lacing.

S - Hoppy pine and citrus. Some farmhouse yeast and spices come out as well.

T - Belgian yeast and spices up front, then some hoppy citrus and pine come out, subtle, but there. Finishes with some farmhouse yeast.

D - Good carbonation with a light body.

O - A saison with a hop kicker. Very solid, the hops bounce to the front then are gone.

750mL (best by 9/2013) into a Hennepin glass. Pours a hazy glowing orange w/ a big fluffy head, nice web of lace.

Aroma is a combination of funky Belgian yeast and citrusy hops.

Taste if bright and lively. Pineapple, orange, farmhouse yeast, pale malt. Juicy and tropical with a nice bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is refreshing and light, dry.

Overall another tasty saison from Logsdon.

Bottle pour for the 4th Annual LA Beer Week Beer Festival at Union Station in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a murky orange with a foamy bone colored head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, yeast, and spices. Taste is much the same with some herbal hop flavors and a spice finish. There is a mild hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.
