750ml bottle, split
appearance: lovely label as usual - served in my hopleaf tulip, dirty garnet body, nice ring of beige head and a nice lace.
smell: ouch - not good, actually bad. musty yeast, some tart fruit, off bready notes
taste: some tart/sweet cherry, light vinegar, bready, earthy yeast, light oak. This was a pretty big miss I think for Logsdon - their saisons are so great - what the hell happened here? Improves significantly as it warms, but still only a light tartness and a slightly metallic tangy finish
mouthfeel: tart, dry, musty earthy finish
overall: meh. wish I hadn't shelled out the cash for two of these

Opened at TN whales tasting 3/16/2013. Thanks to UncleJedi for sharing this.
Pours a thick hazy toffee color with a coffee like head.
Smells oxidized, like cardboard, kinda gross.
Taste is also kindof gross and oxidized, slightly acidic, tastes like wet paper.
Mouthfeel is bubbly and decently carbed but the body is thin, this is pretty hard to drink.

750mL from Beermongers.
A: Cloudy red with a topographical rusted head. No legs to speak of.
N: Yeast laden cherries. Very oaky. Black peppercorn, and intense florals such as chamomile. Some funky bleu cheese and new leather.
T: Nice sourness level. Hints of cherry and oak. Lemon tartness. Leather and leaves. Some sulphuric acid/acetone. Snappy, but not complex.
M: Well carbonated and alcohol is hidden. Saison character which I don’t think is a great thing in a Flanders style ale.
O: A solid beer and worth trying. Needs additional complexity to shine, but I will say it was better than its older brother Cerasus which actually has the cherries in it.

Bottle thanks to Shmeal!
A: Murky brown/reddish beer. Looks like muddy water. Huge foamy head at the beginning, that was nice.
S: Smells great, mostly oak and fruity sourness. Cherries.
T: Taste follows the nose. Very oaky, fruity and a pleasant lactic sourness. Plenty of sweetness and yeasty funkiness too, great tasting beer.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth woody, sour finish.
O: Extremely drinkable. I'd gladly drink it again. Great beer, I really enjoyed it but it's kinda lackluster when placed next to Seizoen Bretta and Peches (both of which are fantastic).

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Bottle FWV954, best by 08/2015.
Appearance - Deep reddish brown with an ample khaki head. Wisps on the surface and a chunky collar. Murky pond water consistency.
Smell - Exceptionally malty. Nutty malts. Caramel. Lightly acidic. Faint dark fruit aroma too.
Taste - Much better acidity here. Lactic sourness, grainy malts. Nutty and light chocolate malt flavors. Clean grainy finish.
Mouthfeel - Well carbonated. Dry and pleasantly tart.
Overall - Surprisingly good. I haven't been impressed by Logsdon's "sour" offerings, but this doesn't try to do too much.

Had on tap at Brouwers during Big Wood. Review from notes.
A: Pours a pretty red/brown color with a small off-white head with great head retention and sheets of lacing down the sides.
S: Not much going on in the aroma, a little bit of tart fruit and must, but surprisingly faint.
T: Sour cherry, raspberry, and strawberry with a nice sourness on the back end. Slightly vinegary and bready.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, slightly dry.
O: It was decent, but having seen the price for this one in bottle, I would pass.

750mL (bottle #FWV 647; best by 8/2015) into a tulip. Pours a clear reddish mahogany w/ a fluffy beige head that settles slowly, sustained by vigorous carbonation.
Aroma is tart and woody. That's all I'm really getting: sour cherries and oak. Smells tasty though.
Taste is woody and tart, tempered by an underlying sweetness. Refreshing.
Mouthfeel is extremely dry, with a prickly bite from the high carbonation.
Overall a really enjoyable sour beer from a great little brewery.

A: poured a dark brown in color with semi dark mahogany highlights and a nice finger of bubbly head that left some good spotted lacing sticking to the glass.
S: nice bretty funk with lovely cherry aromas, a bit of oaky wood, signs of acidic vinegar, tart qualities with mild dark fruit character and hints of brown sugar.
T: the cherry fruit was more pronounced on the palate alongside great oakiness, plenty of barnyard funkiness, some vinegar flavor, mild spice character, hints of underlying vanilla and a touch of dark fruit.
M: the brew was medium in body with a good amount of prickly carbonation which had a mild funky, semi fruity, sweet, slight spice and tart finish.
O: definitely have been digging these logsdon beers, have to seek out more of their offerings especially for them being organic in all.
